james007bond[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Chaps Been told this is a follano lid.... i'm thinking on getting my grubby mits on it and wanted to ask what you think... (of the lid that is and not my mits... ) ----------- Look at how asymmetrical it is... Edited February 2, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Forgot to mention it's a type 2 Quote
JoeR Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Nice bucket, the cap is slightly inaccurate (for 100% movie accurate nuts), but it is a very good lightweight trooping bucket. 100% genuine GF Vers 2. I have owned 2 of these in the past. You could upgrade to Keith's mic tips as an optional extra. Joe Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Yes, the hovi's are shockingly bad on this and I have a set of Keith's tips lying around somewhere...., i just need to know if this bucket is bigger than my AP bucket? And whether i'd troop in it or have it on display is another matter... Quote
NAZGÛL Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Im not a fan of the GF. The tubes and cap looks wrong to me. Quote
SuperTrooper Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 i just need to know if this bucket is bigger than my AP bucket? It should be the same size if they are built the same way. Quote
darren1970[501st] Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I agree that the cap is not 100% right, but its a nice looking helmet Shiv. Is your AP too small bro..? Mine is a little snug but still comfortable. Quote
BFA Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Nice lid , a true collectors item . you don't see many of these around Quote
dougefresh Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Great bucket, Shiv! Thanks for sharing pics; we don't see very many GFs here... nice stuff! Quote
Ghost Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 The photos are taken too close and don't do it any justice. That said I like The GF and would not part with mine...a nice collectors piece! Also they do seem to yellow with age. Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Hey Darren, my AP lid is very snug.... lol, I actually have another one too which i'm experimenting with, so that will become my main trooping bucket... eventually... Hey Doug, (pleasure sharing these pics with the community).... I thought the guys here would appreciate this GF lid....and let's face it, the GF lid is rare and a work of art for some and not for others.... Incidently, one of the UKG guys has a GF lid and has made it into a Sandy.... when I saw it and tried it on, I thought, I want one of those..... let's face it.... it's part of the SW history in one way shape or form (always wanted to say that line.... lol) Quote
NAZGÛL Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Thats true, and Ive read many that likes it. Quote
BFA Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 That said I like The GF and would not part with mine...a nice collectors piece! I miss my old GF bucket can I have it back please Billhag? Quote
littledragon88[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I have one like this too...but because of lack of information I had at the time when I built it, I chose to fill up the gaps between the ears and tube-area with putty, and then I repainted the whole thing... I might deassemble the whole thing and sand it down and do it all right one day. Btw, I've compared my GF with other helmets, and the GF looks so huge compared to for instance TE-derived stunt helmets. How come? Is it because GF sculpted the hero features over an excisting stunt? james007bond[TK] Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Well, i've gone and done it and added this to my collection literally 60 seconds ago..... Quote

Darksaber212[TK] Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) I love my GF armor. Was the best back in the day and still a very, very good one now. -------- Edited February 2, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Awesome pic Jerad..... there's some about a GF suit which IMHO which just makes it special... Whether i'd troop in one or shove it on a display manequinn is another matter... However, i'd sure like to get my mits on a complete suit..... Quote
darren1970[501st] Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Will you ever stop buying Shiv...LOL Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) As promised, here are the pics of the GF lid.... oh I took the liberty of adding Keith's awesome hovis.... enjoy --------- Edited February 23, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 Thanks Scott, the pics just don't do it justice at all.... next to my AP lid and my SDS hero lid (yes the uber expensive one), the GF just rocks... I won't troop in it at all... Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Hey Shiv, Nice looking GF Hero lid.... You need to post some pics with all three buckets AP, SDS and GF together for comparison! That I would love to see!!!!!!!! Cheers, Tom Quote
