Dargas[501st] Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Looking good!!! That?s becoming a really working piece of armor there!
TK8280 Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Is the modded hasbro blaster acceptable for Mark IV though?
crazas[TK] Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Now that I?m officially accepted on the legion I feel that there?s no rush anymore and that I can work on my armor at my own pace.Dargas TK-1845 What do you mean no rush trooper?!?!?! You better hurry or I will be the first Mark from our outpost!! (just to make him work a lil harder! LOL) Guys, I'm a TX, it was Dargas who push me to read and learn a lil more about TKs, this is awesome!! I didn't even knew there was so many variations and details. Worderfull site and wonderfull job!! I want to invite you all to the Expanded Universe Panel, I'll be representing TX and believed or not, I'm learning some good tips from this site. BTW I wasn't joking, I have now a TK and I'm going to try to have it ready ASAP. So Dargas, soon to be XO of the CR Outpost HURRY UP TROOPER!!! Crazas TX (and soon to be TK) 3758 Costa Rica OL Spec Ops Detachement COG
Scott M.[TK] Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 Is the modded hasbro blaster acceptable for Mark IV though? I believe so. ....* E-11 Blaster o Scratch-built, resin cast, hyperfirm rubber cast, or modified toy blaster. o Must include Hengstler counter on left side of weapon I am trying to do everything I can to meet the standards. I am also 2 days from starting my ANH Stunt bucket, so if the FX is an issue, it won't be an issue for me for long.

Scott M.[TK] Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 Oh thats cool, I wish I had that luxury for my ROTJ I forgot there was such a change in the blasters for ROTJ. I guess I keep taking my E-11(hasbro with mod kit) for granted. Once again this is where I start to feel very small, because I think I have all this knowledge, and I really have only scratched the surface.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 It may be some day that the standards are tightened down to preclude the Hasbro, but we felt it was better to just include the relevant details for now and see what people do with them (people one these boards can be really innovative). In this case - that's a nicely modded Hasbro and I'd give it a pass My only quibble is that I'd prefer the frown paint to be even more minimal as seen on the following reference pix: Note how there is a little white on the actual frown itself, and the gray terminates just past the third tooth whereas on yours it goes all the way to the edge. Fix that & I think your set. This is a excellent example of how an FX kit can be upgraded to look fantastic - you should be really proud of your work.
Scott M.[TK] Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 Sounds good. I will try to get that going in the next few days.
Dargas[501st] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I?ll do the mod on the helmet tonight. Thanks for the pointing tips Paul! Cap?n Crazas: Jeez!..you going for Mark too? Well... so much for taking it slowly. I WILL BE the first Mark IV deployed in Costa Rica!! This I vow! Say Scott... do you mind me adding myself to this thread with my own Mark work in progress Project?
Scott M.[TK] Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Say Scott... do you mind me adding myself to this thread with my own Mark work in progress Project? WHAT? No way. This is all about ME!!!! Totally kidding. I would be happy to share a thread with another future deployed. POST AWAY!!! But I will get mine done first, hopefully.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Actually for my own sanity - please keep one person's app per thread.

Dargas[501st] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 That means no black line around the grey right? Damn... on to the drawing board again! Ok Paul... I?ll open mine as soon as I have the pics! Thanks anyway Scott! Surely you?ll get yours first!! jaja
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Unless I beat you both to it. Mine will debut this weekend
Dargas[501st] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 NO WAY! jajajajaja Well you?ll win... i can mod the armor quickly but not the blaster... i just don?t have the time to beat you Paul jajajaja Anyway... I?ll post the pics for the helmet mod tomorrow. Let me see if I got it right. Small grey frown. little white on the frown borders white bolts/screws on the earpieces smoke bubble lenses Blue arerator striper on the tubes Is that it for the helmet?
Scott M.[TK] Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Unless I beat you both to it. Mine will debut this weekend Hey, no fair!!! You know all the ins and outs, and you get to say yea or nay on others, and you get to submit your own?!?!?!?! Man, there outta be a law! I look forward to seeing another great example from you, and you know I will be your biggest supporter, but also your biggest critic (All in good spirit I assure you!!). Look forward to seeing it.

Dargas[501st] Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Paul has a TE? That?s even worse!! he?s got half the way covered jajajajajajaaj Just kidding paul! hope to see your mod pic by pic! I?m Starving for knowledge! jajajaja
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 I don't know how much criticism you can give to a TE set of armor Lots if not correctly done. Things I'd still check for: 1) Button colors not correctly painted 2) Incorrect blaster 3) Non-canvas belt 4) Holster mounted on wrong side or with visible straps on the outside of the belt 5) Incorrect colored traps/tears 6) Incorrect colored tube stripes 7) Mis-matched hero/stunt details (e.g. flat green lenses + three teeth per side) 8) Mis-matched movie details (grey traps + black frown with lips painted) 9) Snow trooper hand plates on an otherwise ANH trooper 10) Incorrect mic tips 11) Riveting the shoulder straps That's off the top of my head...

I meant " I don't know how much criticism you can give to a set of TE armor that has been put together by Paul"
Scott M.[TK] Posted April 25, 2007 Author Report Posted April 25, 2007 Ok, this is my last attempt. If this is a no-go, then I will wait and get my Stunt helmet done and try again: I even added the screws on the side (only 1 on top), per SDS hero guidelines! I thought this was a good shot to show what I started with [ENCOURAGEMENT FOR OTHER FX's OUT THERE]!! Let me know!!
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 What say you fellow troops - good enough?
TK8280 Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I think it looks awesome...great job on the frown!
