MiDri Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 So I got rubberized spray paint on the outside of my helmet, i wiped it off -- but it's left the white area of the mask dirty looking... what are my options? I think i might just have to paint it... Quote
Amish Trooper Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Go TD and that just gives you an excuse to get a new helmet Quote

Plastic Fury[TK] Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Give us some kind of pics so we can better help you out. What type of helmet is it and that will tell what type of plastic it is. Depending on that , there are chemicals that might help remove that without doing damage or you could always paint the bucket. Ā Sorry to hear it man, I know the feeling. Quote
pandatrooper[TK] Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I would try polishing it first if you've already cleaned it as best you can. If it's ABS, worst case you could wet sand it, then polish it. Quote

pandatrooper[TK] Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I'm not that familiar with rubberized paints. Was it just overspray that dried, or did the paint "stain" the plastic? If it was overspray, that should come off easily. Ā If it stained the plastic, it may have soaked in. Try some Novus plastic polish, it might take it out. I used Novus on mine and it seems to do a good job of taking out marks, etc.. Quote

MiDri Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 So i got the "stain" out but then whilst painting my frown I jacked the whoooooole thing up again =(... me and paint, we just shouldn't hang out -- I'm a bad influence... Tried to remove it with some acetone (on the abs, which did not damage it, but did soften it until dried, so i stopped) any one know how to get the "stain" that the enamel has left off? Quote
MiDri Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 Answered my own question, Denatured Alcohol -- omg works great. Quote
