Garbz[TK] Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I'll go against the grain and say, Clean it up. Our military boys wouldn't be caught dead in unpolished wears, we should hold the same standards. I just wish one day, I will be so lucky to ask this question. Waiting on TK status. Quote
Agent RayBans Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 If it were me I would touch up the ab buttons and hand plates. Other than that I would say leave it as is! Quote
ObiHahn[TK] Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Looks absolutely stunning. Natural weathering is the best! I say leave it like that. It looks spot on for a Tantive Raid trooper... Is it all from your gun? Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 Some of the marks are from my blaster, some from dropping the armour parts on the floor, some from leaning against brick walls, kicking my parts around the floor.... you get the idea Ā All i can hear is Billy and Gary shouting in unison..... Ā Nnnooooooooooooooooooooo Quote

FIVE[501st] Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Leave it... and then sell the suit to me at a hugely discounted price! (am I the first to say that?) Ā Man... that's some sweet lookin' armor! Quote
TK8280 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Hah! you should see my armor that Ive been wearing for 4 years Quote
Sandeman[TK] Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I stopped trying to be squeaky clean after my third troop. It was just an uphill battle. I do clean up a bit, such a the left forearm (blaster rub) and I continue to... ahem... polish my helmet , but only because it's an investment and the main focus of the public. A scratch and dent trooper looks real in my opinion! Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) I must say that most marks dont show up in these photo's and even in the flesh my armour still looks quiet 'clean'. Check out these latest pics from Belgium.... Ā Edited January 31, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
Red Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I wish mine got that much use...looks fantastic man Quote
NAZGĆL Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I like it with the weatherd look! Id leave it. Quote
JoeR Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I think it looks amazing with the natural weathing. I wouldn't clean it. Ā Joe Quote
bluehickey Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 What blows my mind is how in the world you got it so scuffed up with only 12 troops! I've done 9 troops in mine and I am no where near that many scuffs! Quote
littledragon88[TK] Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 LOL, I always clean my armor after each troop! But I got some nasty scratch marks which is caused by the thighs and the cod/abdomen piece which does not go of no matter what I do. Ā This is a bit off-topic, but how do people manage to keep their biceps armor so low? I've tried it before, but it restricts my arm movements to the point that my arm get's "locked" in an ackward position. The only arm oosition which I can do with having my biceps so low, is the normal blaster holding positing with two hands. Quote

Ā I agree, having the upper arms down low just ends up in a lot of pinching for me. I have purposely kept mine up higher, thus revealing more black in the elbow area, but I don't care that it doesn't look as screen accurate, when I'm trooping, I'm trying to find as much comfort as possible. I still get little 'armor kisses' even though my pieces are placed up higher. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 25, 2009 Author Report Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Having my biceps low over my elbow's does not have any effect on me lifting my arms, or the armour being restrictive in any way. I think the key is to have the bicep parts made to be loose so they are free to move around easily. Ā - --------- Edited January 31, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) My vote is: NOT TOO CLEAN!!! Ā Ā If you look at the TK's on Tantive IV they had the grunge wearthered look going on.... Ā Ā Ā Ā George said he wanted a used lived in look to the SW Universe were everything didn't look fresh out of the box new and perfect. Chunk[501st] Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 I like the used look myself. Let it wear naturally Quote
gh05ty Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Chicks dig scars.... scratches maybe not so much but still looks very cool Quote
Trooper Zero Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I'd say leave your armour alone, besides chick dig scares Quote
TK:TK Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I keep the scuffs and dirt. I'd rather not appear to be just a toy soldier. Quote
tk7713gra30 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Just got my TM. Ā It will mainly be on display but I am going to wear it a few times just to get that same realistic effect. Ā Its spot on mate Ā Brills, work of art. Ā Classic painting or your TM.. Yours anytime Ā Gra Quote
