The belt and glasses for helmet

Hi. right now iv finished the top part of my armour but the belt will give me some problems simply because its so BIG! i measured it out and if you riveted all three of the platic pieces togeather i would be absolutly massive. i would trim but im 14 i still need to grow! and i just wanna know how to put the lenses in because it seems like there would be gaps(i tested and saw a small one) well can anyone help me out!

 

 

Im doing the helmet and im gunna hold off the belt for awhile

Can't speek for the belt since I haven't done mine yet. As for the lenses just use a hot glue gun, if there's gaps that's fine, the more ventilation you can get the better.

I assume you have an FX kit. Ditch the extra ABS strips - or sell them to someone who needs the extra material for shims, etc. Have someone sew you a heavy canvas belt. Much more accurate, and it can be made to your exact specs.

Like Gos said, hot glue. Lots of it. Or better yet, get rid of the FX helmet altogether, they're rapidly falling out of favor in the 501st. Besides, if you're built like a typical 14-year old, you'll look like an absolute bobblehead in it. Many who are upgrading out of the FX helmet go with the MRCE, but there are lots of other options as well. Spend some time here researching helmets, and soon you'll have a good idea of what might suit you.

It's still 501st acceptable, however it's not acceptable for EIB.

 

You really are better off finding a better helmet though, you'll look better, feel better and be happier.

Nor is it acceptable for MEPD Police Officer. As noted it's pretty much losing steam as there are better, cheaper (or as cheap) alternatives.

Thanks man. i dont have any idea what u said about the belt but it sounds smart. and ill eventually upgrade my helmet but right now im going bare bones her. halloweens coming up fast and i dont have anymore money!!!!

If you read the assembly instructions that come with the FX kit, they tell you to use the 3-inch wide plastic strips that came with it as belt material. Don't do it.

 

Get yourself one of these belts instead:

First, I never really looked at your profile before. Good to see a nice Canadian lad with an interest like this. Ok, it seem's you jumped into this a bit to fast. But if you really want to become a keener, then you'll have far more time ahead of you. First. The belt. look around your place and see if you can find a black or white belt that is as close to the size for the issue belt. If this is a FX rig, I recall that you use nut's/bolt's to hold the front of the belt on any way. Try making a velcro strip to hold the ab/back part's closed and just go with out for now. Again from what I recall, you don't really need the back part of the belt to hold it all together, other then to hold the TD on. You can still get it done and still look over all better then any thing your pal's may have! Don't ever let the 31st of Oct, be "the be all-end all" why you spent the cash for this in the first place. Part one: Get all the plastic on your body, Part two: Fine tune the armour as best you can, and then and only then get picky! As I said, you can get this part done, the belt, easy, oh and NEVER give up the ABS strip's for free. They can be used for lot's of fix's if your creative! It's just the back part of the belt and any thing you do will be ok for a "Temp-Fix-Only" till you can pick up a better belt.
