johnnymac Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Has anyone done any weathering on their TK? In the film, to me, they all looked a bit worn... The Sandtroopers were obviously weathered to look like sand, but the TK's in ANH also look a bit dirty. IS there a tutorial out there of the best way to achieve this look? Quote

The weathering will find you. Quote
SuperTrooper Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I think the best advise I've heard was to troop alot and not polish your armor. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Ask Billy H how i weather my TM armour Quote
Daric LaRone[501st] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I think the best advise I've heard was to troop alot and not polish your armor. It's true- though I've only been on a handful of troops, you end up with scuff marks and the like; and you're like "where did that come from?" Scuff marks here and there add character to the rig IMHO. Quote
troopermaster Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Try this- Mike shows how to weather clone armour but it's the same method used for stormtroopers. Quote
Trooperman Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Ask Billy H how i weather my TM armour Mark that wouldnt involve walls would it mate Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I did stand on my body armour and wipe the floor with with it after the NSC troop this weekend. I though Billy was going to have a heart attack He came out with some choice swear words....lol Walls are good too, he he. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I think the best advise I've heard was to troop alot and not polish your armor. 100% agree. The best weathering is that which occurs through regular use. Quote
ThayNerd[TK] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 As others have said just troop regularly and polish your armor. I haven't polished mine in almost 2 years. Its nice and weathered now. Quote
Billhag Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Guys Mark ain't kidding, I nearly had a cardiac arrest when he put his chest plate on the floor, stood on it and started moving it back and forth like a skateboard I also had to fight him off for most of the troop as he kept on sneaking up and skuffing most of the parts on MY armour with his DLT-19 when I wasn't looking <_< .....the Ba$t*rd!!. Now is that anyway to treat a beautiful TM? Mind you, I've only myself to blame as I did promise him back in March that I wouldn't polish it and I would let it weather naturally, but it just ain't weathered enough for Marks liking....the sadist Quote
Plastic Fury[TK] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Haha wow, I guess I should stop polishing mine, I polish it up after EVERY troop lol!!! Quote
Murray1134[501st] Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Natural weathering is all the best. After a few troops when you are de-suiting you'll notice all kinds of weird marks. It will look just like the movies. Now you can go 100% authentic and use gaffers tape, get some nice cracks going, etc. Quote
