TK-7980 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Compared to FX this armor is anything BUT a walk in the park... Quote
Trooperman Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Wow, this looks very glossy , are you gonna do a build thread? Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 You can ask that in a different thread. This is a build thread. Any other comments will be deleted. Quote
synaptyx Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Hang on, I'll get the wooden spoon. Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 I'm having trouble differentiating the shin pieces could anyone help? I'll have pics up in a moment. Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 They aren't all fully trimmed yet (some are) so ignore that. Quote
dinanm3atl Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Good luck! Thanks for the photos so far! Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 Thanks, I'm gonna be needing it! Quote
TK-7828 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Wow thsi is super....ill give you more pics and tips if you want...ill look at the chins when i come home and post some pics buddy...also reade my email that i did send you on where you should not leave thickness on the armor. i trooped in mine for the first time this weekend and it did hold up very well Loves it Glossy and sharp and screenaccurate Quote
Madmartigan Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 The quick answer is that the halves with sharp indents just away from the "shin bone" should be the inside pieces. The outside pieces are smoother as they move outward from the shin. Quote
nothingrecorded Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 On the shins, if they don't line up completely, that is ok because you should have the strips of plastic that glues over holding the shins together, that would cover the gap in the plastic. I personally would put a strip of the plastic in both the inside and the outside for extra strength. Just like we have seen Paride (slaveprobe) do in his TM Build. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8067 Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 Sweet I think I got it guys! I gotta cut out the strips whenever I get the chance and start assembling. The only thing left is the dreaded thighs, I've been ignoring those like the plague. I got your email Andreas, thanks alot! I had better luck with the belt buttons than you did I think. Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 I'll do the inside outside reinforcing for all the pieces I think, just to be safe. Quote
dougefresh Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I'll do the inside outside reinforcing for all the pieces I think, just to be safe. I'll be doing the same thing. Seems like it'll be a big stress point-- I'll feel a lot better if it's doubled-up. Quote
TK-7828 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 This is how i did it. I overlaped everything that would have stripes on them. That makes it much stronger and you cant see anything of it cause you have the glued stipes there. cheers Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 I was about to do that, I'm just going to do strips on the inside and outside. If it doesn't work I'll over lap it anyways Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Woops wrong photo! Thats my NEXT NEXT project, I hope. If all goes well in life Here is the image I meant to post Quote
thon2009[501st] Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I was about to do that, I'm just going to do strips on the inside and outside. If it doesn't work I'll over lap it anyways I do the same way :-) Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Great job mate, and great kit. I'm working on my shins too. I found earth magnet very useful when I glued the outer strip. Just an advice Quote
TK-7980 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 Could someone post a picture of the backs and fronts of their thighs? The bottoms of them (front view). I think I trimmed mine incorrectly... Quote
