Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Hi everyone, my TM kit arrived about 1 year ago but I'm very slow in assembly due to job, family etc... Now I've almost completed arm and legs so I decide to post some pic hoping you'll appreciate. The pics are not always in chronological order. Enjoy P.S. comment and advice are always welcome Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 I dont think i could of left mine for a year before assembly, i look forward to seeing you put this one together Quote
dougefresh Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Umm... as long as this thread is active, I'm gonna' need a tarp to protect my keyboard from drool. Even unassembled, it looks AWESOME. Can't wait to see you put it together! Quote
ThayNerd[TK] Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Looking forward to watching your build. Quote
Billhag Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 “Love of beauty is Taste. The creation of beauty is Art.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Paride Man!, I can't wait to see this Bad Boy come together Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 1, 2009 Author Report Posted September 1, 2009 Before I trimmed all borders. I tried with exacto knife and dremel but it takes a lot of time, a lot of blood (exacto don't forgive) and a lot of dust. Lexan scissor was the answer. Trimming legs and arms make me familiar with abs, a new material to me. After trimming I've started with an easy piece, the biceps. I watched every Stukatrooper pic 20 times... (thanks Stuka) First I glued a inner strip of spare ABS (you can see it is different) on a half After I glued togheter the two halves and finally the outer strip with the right ABS. The biceps are done. Quote
joryayer Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Two buckets? How did you get two helmets? Did they both come with the kit, or did you buy a second one? Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 Two buckets? How did you get two helmets? Did they both come with the kit, or did you buy a second one? The second helmet is not a TM, is a recast (not TM recast, not made by me, not bought by me, is a gift) and it didn't come with the kit. After all flames about recast stuff, I don't know if I can post pics without offending anyone... Quote
GosHawk[501st] Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I've been looking all over to see why you glued inner strips of spare ABS to the inside of the armor. can you tell me why? is it necessary to do that in order to make it fit better? Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 I've been looking all over to see why you glued inner strips of spare ABS to the inside of the armor. can you tell me why? is it necessary to do that in order to make it fit better? Is not a fitting question, is just to make the armor sturdy. I followed the Stukatrooper build and I thought it is a good idea to join halves with 2 stripes, inside and outside. Maybe a waste of time and glue but this method give me the chance to eventually correct cutting mistakes and to find a good position for outside strip. Quote

nothingrecorded Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Ohhhhhhhh it's so beauuuutiful! I love how the light reflects off the armor as if to remind you that you have the best armor out there! One day my friend, I will get my hands on some TM... one day. Keep up the good work. Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 3, 2009 Author Report Posted September 3, 2009 And now, to me, one of the best piece in the kit (except the helmet): sexy curves.. I cut the halves and sanded until I reach the best fit then glued the inner strips after 12 h I glued the other half and finally the outside strip a detail You can see the outside strip in right thigh is lightly bended to follow the thigh profile Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Ciao Paride TM is probably the most beautiful TK armour in the world (now that's my humble opinion).... to assemble such armour one needs to take time, love and passion.... your pictures show this already... no question.... (Ah I see you are from Padova, I used to work in Trieste for about 2.5 yrs....) Grazie mille.... Shiv Quote
VacTrooper Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Holy Cow... That's beautiful. I need to invest in ABS. And a new oven set up. Quote
Rolf[501st] Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Very nice assemble so far. Looking good. Keep up the good work Quote
joryayer Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 The second helmet is not a TM, is a recast (not TM recast, not made by me, not bought by me, is a gift) and it didn't come with the kit. After all flames about recast stuff, I don't know if I can post pics without offending anyone... No was just wondering if you lucked out and they accidentally put in two buckets. Wasn't sure, sorry I wasn't more accurate on my questioning! Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 6, 2009 Author Report Posted September 6, 2009 No was just wondering if you lucked out and they accidentally put in two buckets. Wasn't sure, sorry I wasn't more accurate on my questioning! No problem mate. I used that bucket to practice and it was a good training. I tried some solution that helped me and I'll never tried on a TM bucket. For example screw instead of rivets under ears, to me, are more convenient, you can remove easly and do the same job. Also I found that a screw under the frown bind very well the dome and the faceplate... things like that... Just my 2 cent Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 12, 2009 Author Report Posted September 12, 2009 Hi everyone, here are some updates left shin and his overlap sorry for the foot here the inner strip glued to the front and the two halves glued together preparing for the outer strip... glueing and clamping and finally Quote
dougefresh Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 I can't wait to see everything when it's done. Judging from your progress photos, that thing's gonna' turn out unbelievably cool! Nice job! Quote
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Very cool!!!!! I luv the idea of useing the masking to avoid the glue spreadingon the armor...... ( ya i know not new idea but i havent seen pics) Quote
TKDUEUNO Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 I did that too! You're doing a very clean, neat and precise build, bravo Paride!!!! It's gonna be an awesome armor! Quote
james007bond[TK] Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Completely agree with Pablo..... a splendid build so far.... I especially like the way you are rounding off the ANH strips... just gives the armour that added 'WOW' factor.... Quote
Slaveprobe[TK] Posted September 13, 2009 Author Report Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks everyone for the kind words, they are really appreciated. Now I'm preparing the ab section, chest, back etc (just trimming and sanding) and after I'll start glueing the snap tab. Stay tuned for more updates Quote
