naatsirhc[TK] Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 I have been working on my first hasbro mod. I am going ESB with my armor so I need a blaster to fit the theme. I hope my pics work below. I started with the removal of the site pieces and barrell tip to remove the guts of the blaster. I then marked and cut-out the counterbox with a cut-off wheel and cutter tip. I then filled in the site with part of the front site and a piece of PVC Next, was to carefully modify the plastic that I cut away from counter box. After that I filled all the seems with bondo and sanded flush Removed part of lower left T-track and drilled holes Carefully removed C from first hole on right and then drilled a new hole and re-attached C in opposite direction A liittle more work and this is where I am at now! Let me know what you guys thing so far Quote

naatsirhc[TK] Posted August 31, 2009 Author Report Posted August 31, 2009 Here is the next round of progress, the fires and heat in SoCal have been slowing me down! Is this the correct position of tip? completed so far Now I need to paint a little inside and put the guts in and close her up so i can finish the outside! Quote

TK-4261 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Looking good Christaan......now get back to working on it Quote
naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 The air quality is terrible out my way. Ash all over the place and blazing heat. I have not been able to get a whole lot done , but here is an update! I found that lamp chain works as a pretty good D-Ring Applied bondo to the stock extention Then sanded bondo Then I drilled holes into both stock pieces to allow a screw for support I then used a stick to dry test the fit With the stick inside held stock to blaster to check fit I purchased some 5-minute epoxy for a fast, strong bond. Until now, I was using E-6000 From this view you can see that I counter sunk the hole for the screw Primed right side w/ greeblies primed left side w/ greeblies Still waiting on T-Track, going to bondo stock and add pins to arms! naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 4, 2009 Author Report Posted September 4, 2009 Thank you for all the support. I'm getting close to the finish. Just a small update on where I am at. I Patched the joining area of the two stock pieces and then sanded smooth. I then primed and painted Received my T-tracks from Smitty Cut notches out of track and used lighter to soften, bend and form ends Clamped finished tracks to blaster Drilled holes on both sides and installed plastic screw holders( for drywall ) Then, drilled holes in stock handle for screws to attach to blaster Applied silver paint to bolt section Still have to put the guts back in and solder before I can finish the outside. Getting the tracks today really got me back on schedule, thanks again Smitty! Quote
naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 17, 2009 Author Report Posted September 17, 2009 Well, I took a little brake to dip into my armor. Took the wife and daughter for the weekend to go jet skiing with some family friends. Now, I have decided to finish my blaster! I just had to replace those hasbro tracks, I did not like how they pointed in. I used the cut-off wheel and then used a drum sander attachment to sand down ridges. I then added my Smitty tracks Next, glued piece to back, bottom of blaster and d-ring Filled screw holes with vinyl spackle Bondo added to barrel tip and then sanded smooth with mouse 220 grit then hand fine grit Glued front site pieces I am almost ready for final paint, here is ESB blaster sideview w/ sights Quote
Smitty Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Man that is beautiful! Where did you find the alligator clip greeblies? They look fantastic! Quote
naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 18, 2009 Author Report Posted September 18, 2009 Man that is beautiful! Where did you find the alligator clip greeblies? They look fantastic! Thanks for the compliment! The answer is that I made the greeblies and sights with ovenbake craft clay from scratch. I am thinking about making an ESB kit, once I get my armor finished. Quote
TK8114[TK] Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 definitely a great build with some great ideas! Quote
naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 19, 2009 Author Report Posted September 19, 2009 After some wet sanding I was ready for another coat of paint. I originally started with the krylon fusion satin black, but I found this paint tempermental. I switched to the rustoleum brand of the same kind of paint and was pleased with the result. I still have a little more wet sanding to do in some areas, before adding final coat. Here is a pick of the folding stock being epoxied. I am almost done, I will post the final pics and my reference photos. I used John's (stormtrooper) molded ESB blaster as the basis for my mod. I hope this qualifies for EIB! Quote
ThayNerd[TK] Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 That looks fantastic! Great attention to detail. Quote
naatsirhc[TK] Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 Thanks again for the comments. I am sticking a fork in this blaster and jumping back on my armor and bucket. I would like to thank John(stormtrooper) for his great cast of an ESB blaster and ask forgiveness for using his photos here. I am still new and not sure where or how to link from original thread. I would also like to thank all of those troopers who have done hasbro mod threads before me, I found their ideas and hard work very useful. I know most of the blasters used were ANH with out the counter, but I am shooting for EIB so I was stoked to find this reference. I hope that I did something new and different that will eventually lead to even better ideas. Here are the finished pics w/ related reference shot. Left side Right side Scope Thanks for following along! Quote
