Well they did use hooks with elastic, just not like how Mark has done it.

 

In one of those infamous leaked photos it looks like a hook with a strip of plastic (off-cut from the armour) was also used.

Paul -- do you mean they hooked from the outside in (versus from inside out, like Mark has done)? Or was it much more different?

Well i know the holes are in the right place so im 33% there... just need to know if the hooks are correct, and how many different ways are there to doing the same action

Does the hooks facing inwards scrape against your calf much, or is it not that bad?

Cool i left the lowerest hook off deliberately so it does not get in the way of my boots ~ and went with black as i thought it would blend better with the dark undersuit when the shins open up..

 

But i am willing to alter these to white if thats * cough ~ clears throat * 'screen accurate'

I have been carrying out some armour mods so I thought I would update my thread..

 

I have added hooks to the back of my shins to keep them closed.

 

 

Thanks for sharing this great idea! I am going to incorporate it into my current build, but now I am torn between white and black elastic. I can see how black could help hide things...

What type of glue do you use to attach the elastic to the inside of the shin ?

This is quite an old thread so I am not sure Mark will see it.

E6000 will work on the elastics mate, also good on the shoulder bells elastic.
