SethB6025[501st] Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Legally, I don't believe he would be able to do that, because he is not apart of a garrison officially, he is not covered buy the insurance He could show up and troop and do whatever the heck he wants legally (except buy porn & cigarettes and stay out after midnight ) . Of course, he wouldn't be there "with the garrison". We have cadets join GC for troops unofficially (you can't tell someone where they can and can't go) prior to joining. Also, there isn't any insurance since the 501st isn't a legal entity. The concern is that someone would sue the "501st" which would likely be the event organizer, or maybe whoever has their name on the website registration. Quote

Thats why I said "I belive", I have heard some things about some people here and there that I am not at liberty to say here at least out here in Cal...we don't even troop with certain people or advertise our troops very liberally...andf it take's a VERY long time to be aproved by our GML, some people it has taken over 3 months so I've heard ...I guess they don't want certain un mentionable's showing up at events or something like that, I personally don't care...the more the marier I always say I guess I'm not into it that much Quote
Operation Overdrive Posted March 6, 2007 Author Report Posted March 6, 2007 Well the replica looks good enough to use and I am all ready to save up for it. Quote
TK8280 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 If I were you I would get the cheap hasbro blaster, then mod it Quote
BactaReality Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I was going to mod my toy blaster just to have something to play with that makes noise. If I were on a budget, I'd be content to troop with a modded hasbro. Quote
Butah Fett Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Well the replica looks good enough to use and I am all ready to save up for it. If you want to run around with a 6-7" blaster, go right ahead, that's your business. I don't think you understand what we're trying to tell you here. Quoted from the Master Replicas web page: Master Replicas continues to set the standard in quality Star Wars collectibles with the introduction of our incredible .33 scaled replica blasters.... Stormtrooper Blaster Scaled Replica measures approximately 6 7/16" x 1 15/16" x 2 1/2". Display case measures approximately 7 7/8" x 13 7/8" x 4 5/8". Simply put, it is way too small. You can get more information here. It's a nice display piece, but it is not suitable for trooping, unless you're about 2 feet tall. Quote
Operation Overdrive Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 If there was a place that I can go and buy a replica then mod it I would but I have no clue to as where else to buy one. But what would I mod it for is what I am saying like how will I mod it????? Quote
Operation Overdrive Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 Okay I went onto Hasbro.com and this is what I have found. So which one should I be getting. The hasbro trooper blaster costs $19.99 and the other replica costs $49.99. Here is another pic of the two. What do you say????? HASBRO STAR WARS SHOP BLASTERS Quote
Operation Overdrive Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 I added up the totals and if I buy the hasbro one I will be spending $876.96 for the armor, gloves, blaster, and black body suit. That is all together. Quote
TK8280 Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 I added up the totals and if I buy the hasbro one I will be spending $876.96 for the armor, gloves, blaster, and black body suit. That is all together. and if you wanted to get the REAL star wars shop Master Replicas full scale and SIZE blaster it would cost you about $500.00 more...that blaster that they are selling is only 1 quarter of the real weapon's size that was used in the movies...its like buying a power wheels truck and calling it the real thing Quote
Butah Fett Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Yes, that's the Hasbro blaster you would need to mod. It's also currently in stores as the "Clone Trooper Rifle." It's the same exact thing. To moddify it, you will need to find a source of parts for the stock, clip, barrel, and whatever else you want to do. Take your time with it, no need to rush. You have like 3 years before you're eligible for 501st membership. Quote
Operation Overdrive Posted March 9, 2007 Author Report Posted March 9, 2007 Hey don't worry I am saving money and will be taking my time before I actually join up!!!! YAY!!!! Quote
Dargas[501st] Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 If you donn?t feel up to the task of modding a hasbro blaster the you can buy it and send it to someone who can do it for you and pay the man for the workmanship. Now I have no idea who would do that for you... I could do it but I live in Costa Rica so the two way shipping would add to the cost. take all into consideration and then take the right choice. The Hasbro thing has the advantage of size, cost and portability besides the fact that has SOUNDS!!! that?s a big plus! I?ve seen mods on the hasbro blaster that really makes for a nearly perfect replica. good luck on the enterprise man! Quote
J2H Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Wow, wish I had that much dough at 15, lol I barely have it at 24! The Air Force don't pay THAT good for a measley Senior Airman! Quote
