firebladejedi[TK] Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 Hey it is funny to put this new helmet next to the TE and TE2 and you can see what is similar and what is really different about these helmets. Like brothers that have the same chin but different nose etc.. I am very happy to have this helmet in my collection Quote

firebladejedi[TK] Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 Ok hold onto your lids guys, here are some comparison shots.. I took them all front roughly the same distance and zoom. First face shots Dan Laws TE hero TM hero TE2 anh stunt TE2 esb stunt TE hdpe sandy Quote
troopermaster Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 A fabulous collection of helmets Mark, I'm envious The DL face is extremely close to the TE hero, almost an exact duplicate from what I can see. Do they match up size wise? Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 As far as i know Paul the TE abs hero i have is from Matt' set for stun molds. Which is the dave m helmet, the same base of the DL helmet? I have spoken to Matt about how he gets the hero look from using a stunt helmet as a base and he has told me that he under cooks the plastic so it makes the face wider and also so that the forth tooth is not so visible. The TE is also a slightly thinner plastic being 0.060 i dont know what the DL is maybe 0.080?, it is thin but not as thin as the TE. I have just done some simple measurements and the TE is ever so slightly smaller, like 2-3 mm. So although it is very close, it is actually smaller. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 I didnt take proper side angle pics of all the helmets, some were on the scew but here are the right hand side comparison shots.. Dan Laws, TE hero, TE2, TE2 and TE hdpe Quote

Darth_Finger Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Whats up with the TE hero? Is that something different from the others? Kinda like Quote
TKDUEUNO Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 It's a very sharp helmet, but am I the only one to think that it's a bit "weird"? I see a very tall and squared cap, faceplate protruding a lot, "shrinked" at the frown and wide at the bottom. Maybe it's the assembly, just the pictures or the big ears, but somethings makes me dislike it. Quote

I see a very tall and squared cap, faceplate protruding a lot, "shrinked" at the frown and wide at the bottom. Maybe it's the assembly, just the pictures or the big ears, but somethings makes me dislike it. I think it's the assembly, Pablo. Take a look at what it looks like when Ghost on MEPD reassembled it (Post #12) and imagine the ears a little thinner. http://forum.dirtyarmor.net/index.php?show...amp;#entry66538 Notice the difference in his before and after? It starts to look a lot more like what you might be accustomed to -- keeping in mind that we are much more used to seeing the Brian R family of helmets (versus the Dave M - the basis for this helmet), in general. But, yeah... the problem with what I've seen in the preassembled DLs is that the faceplate needs to be shifted so that the bottom tubes go about 1/2 an inch or so further back into the back and cap piece. Personally, I'll be psyched to get mine, even if it does mean a little time with the drill and Dremel to adjust it. Quote
TKDUEUNO Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 I hear you Chris, just saw the topic on MEPD and the repositioned faceplate definitely improved it, probably it's me but it looks "squished"... I'm very curious to see one of these helmets trimmed and assembled like a "standard" stunt one Quote
Murray1134[501st] Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 The repositioned face makes all the difference to me. The more "flattened" face profile looks better in my eyes. The DL seems a very nice helmet that you don't hear much about. Does he only do helmets or does he do full suits as well? Quote
