synaptyx Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I'm a bit of a bobblehead trooper, so after seeing Colin Anderson's delectable AP bucket and chin strap, I decided that it would be a good idea to help secure my SDS Battlespec before my first troop this coming weekend. I wanted to make something adjustable and ended up with this 2.5cm nylon webbing chin strap and plastic buckle fastener: Neat: Attached to back of ear: It also has a comfort strip of webbing velcroed to the chin side of the buckle. You can see it in the pic above, but it's a little blurry. Strap retaining adjuster: Quote

SuperTrooper Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Nice work, that looks great. Does the clip rub on the chin or neck? Quote
synaptyx Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Cheers guys, The clip doesn't rub all that bad, but I had a spare bit of webbing after I cut it for the straps so decided to up the comfort a notch. You have to be careful clipping it in. Don't want to catch hairs or flesh! Quote
synaptyx Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Simon, the UKG GML, requested a few photos to make sure it couldn't be seen. I thought I'd post them here too: Photos done! I got the tripod out and did it myself. Palaver? Nah! From these photos, the chin strap is well hidden. This was the first time I had tried it on with the new leather neckseal too. The strap sits perfectly right at the top of the neckseal. Very comfy and secure. Hope these shots prove the concept. Cheers! Quote
