Runnriottt Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I am lining up comps of these helmets. Inside and out, photos. Plain photos. Sorry to see your thread get bushwhacked FBJ. Great lid.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Interesting discussion regarding the TM helmet here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=56551 . Actually Kevin Weir fan sculpted his helmets too, though he seems to get lost as a "maker". RT certainly has some different details - yet he also seems not to be mentioned as an original maker. And even if he started with an AP/TE for a base, he's made far more changes than anyone else. Also, TE is making helmets from something. No one believes he has this endless supply of "found" stuff in his basement. I've heard multiple stories, but am not sure which are credible

dougefresh Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Must be a big and cluttered basement if you ask me. I would love to have a basement that spontaneously poops TK helmets. And hundred dollar bills. And beer. And women.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 To be honest I don't care where they come from or that he's doing it, a little transparency would be nice though. BACK ON TARGET: Mark - that is a really nice hero helmet and the detailing is wonderful I'm curious to see what you do with the inside as well ;-)

GINO Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 Trolling? Oh please, that link is directly related to this topic. In fact, I only posted a link so that people can CHOOSE if they want to partake in those discussions. Trying to get my post/link deleted is like trying to cover it up. .
firebladejedi[TK] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I dont care if you dont like me, this helmet or TM. Your comments have nothing to do with my thread. This is a show off thread, not an armour history lesson. GINO Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 I was asked to start a new thread about this. I and others have been saying it since day one, but it's quite obvious to well studied trooper experts that TM's helmet is a recast and not a total scratch built sculpt. Rather than have the discussion rage on two different forums, here is a link to a thread on the RPF where it is going on. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=56551 .
GINO Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 Check out the link. It's all there. If what you see isn't enough for you, then you are fooling yourself.
firebladejedi[TK] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I have a TM helmet right in front of me and that detail is not present on my helmet. How do you account for that?
riveting Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Seeing as GINO has kindly provided the link to the ongoing discussion on the other forum, perhaps that would be the best place for this topic to be continued? my 2c$
GINO Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 I have a TM helmet right in front of me and that detail is not present on my helmet. How do you account for that? Bias.
GINO Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 FYI, I'm not the only one who believes this. Other well respected experts can re-affirm what I am saying. See the RPF thread for names. I encourage you to ask them privately. .
firebladejedi[TK] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Ok i shall take some pictures tomoro during daylight and post them and we shall see if im biased or not.

Smitty Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Well I for one would really hate to hear that TM had recasted a helmet, Ive taken a good look at that RPF thread and some of the pictures are very unsettling.
ThayNerd[TK] Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I saw them as well Chris and they are unsettling. I hope some other TM owners will post up pics of their lids showing this particular part of the helmet so we can find out what is fact and what is fiction.
Rolf[501st] Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 I saw them as well Chris and they are unsettling. I hope some other TM owners will post up pics of their lids showing this particular part of the helmet so we can find out what is fact and what is fiction. Hi there. I have been follow TM fantastic progress, over the years. And seen he´s molds, and suits/helmets gets more and more accurate. I have a full TM suit/helmet, and a TE/TE2. And the helmets, are not the same. Its pretty easy to see. And as far as i know, the TE/TE2 is 99,9% the same as the GINO helmet. So if some one ask me, the TM helmet is 100% not a recast of any thing. Its a fan made mold/sculpt helmet.
GINO Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 You know though, the little bump is the sprinkle on the sundae. One look at that bird's eye view says it all. .
GINO Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 To say the TE/TE2 is 99.9% the same as mine tells me that you don't own one of my helmets. As far as TM's helmet goes, it is a recast that has been modified. He says he sculpted it from a lump of clay. Are there going to be some physical differences, sure, but the basis of what was used was a recast. To the naysayers, or people on the fence: Ask yourself. Why would I lie? I'm not in competition with him. I don't sell helmets. I don't have any vendetta with him (outside of this very issue). My helmets are not in danger of being outdone by anyone least of all by a scratch build as he claims, (unless someone else is able to mold another screen used anh helmet, even then best they could do is match mine). Ask yourself. Why would the other people I mentioned in the RPF thread lie? You calling them liars as well? You don't respect their claims either? Have you bothered to approach them off board and get their opinion straight up? Would you post what they said if you did? What about the people who are friendly with TM who are now saying to themselves, "I'll be damned he's right!" Would you listen to those people if they had the courage to speak up publicly, or would you call them full of crap too? . .
Rolf[501st] Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Thanks for your reply GINO. I´m a happy man, i like every body. So i just read, and try to learn. I will try to add some TM vs. TE2 shots asap. Cheers (i have only got: FX, GF, AP, TM, TE2 helmets)
