dark_jedi_ire[TK] Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Hi Folks,, My TM Hero Kit is Now 9 years old,, plenty of Troops later and sun damage has really started to effect it,..Just took my kit out of the attic where its been in its kit box for a couple of months, and while I have been doing the Kit whiting from TrooperBay.. as I`m in Ireland its expensive to get shipped from the US, I`m looking into possibly retiring the Kit completely or going with a brand new Kit, Or keeping my Current TM Kit and repainting it with Gloss White,.,. Anyone got experience of this? Advise? Cheers Rob Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 I had some success on a 10 year old helmet with yellowing using Retr0brite https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrobright Quote
T-Jay[TK] Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 The All-In-One TK Stunt Index of Resources has its own chapter for Armor Yellowing. Maybe you want to check this out... And if nothing works for you, it would still be possible to convert a good armor into a Sandtrooper or a Zombie-TK. Quote

Nairy[Staff] Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 I have a Garrison mate who is trying some sketchy stuff! Has has hyrdogen peroxide 12% and a UV lamp to try and get some white back! He wraps the part in paper towel and sprays on the HP12% on it, and then leaves it inside the contraption with the UV lamp on! Still waiting to hear back from him on the results! 1 Quote

He got no results apparently... Possibly not enough juice in the UV light! Quote
dark_jedi_ire[TK] Posted October 29 Author Report Posted October 29 anyone got experience of Spraying/painting ABS... how did they get on? Paint Cracks as the armour flexes? worth doing? What type of paint etc.. As I have a troop in two weeks, Armour is currently under a UV lamp with Trooper bay whitening Solution, which has/does work, but as mentioned at this stage I`m either going to retire the Kit or go with a brand new kit and start again,... hence my interest in painting,, As currently I`m building a Shoretrooper and that is Taking up a lot of my time,.. especially coming into the Winter colder shorter nights, I Dont want to be working on two kits... Cheers For my FOTK I used automotive acrylic paint, there has been some cracks on areas which flex as well as some chips from armor pieces hitting. Have a search through the Rogue One and FOTK build groups many of both would have been painted 1 Quote
