ZanderCage[TK] Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 (edited) So I accidentally got some super glue and my TK armor in a spot I didn't want it. My armor is made of ABS plastic. Is there anyway to remove the superglue without damaging the plastic? Edited October 24 by ZanderCage Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 I have had success with sanding the area with excess glue. Using various grades of wet and dry sandpaper, starting with a courser grit and moving to the finest grit, then polishing the area with the Novus plastic polish. Really depends on how much the spill is, and in what location. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 A couple of tricks I've heard of, 1 soak in warm salty water, the other place in a freezer, once removed you should be able to pry off. Quote
mikidymac[TK] Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 There are specific CA Debonders like the BSI. https://bsi-inc.com/hobby/un_cure.html The issue is that they can damage the ABS. Your best bet is to remove as much as possible then sand the remaining with a very fine grit so you don't add scratches followed by polishing. I used 600 to sand, then 1,000 wet dry, 2000, 5000 then polished with Novus #3, Novus #2 and final Novus #1 spray. It takes time but will look perfect when done. Quote
