M4S88
Hello to all! I have to admit, I never really got into Star Wars until recently. My son (7 years old) has fallen in love with it and since I have a growing love thanks to him. Recently took him to disneys empire edge and watching the pure joy on his face when seeing the storm troopers was the moment I decided I want a set haha! So I just ordered my armor (prob a bit prematurely) but looking for anyone near Kansas City area that would be willing to be a resource! Personal note, I’m a 100% disabled vet, ex-cop, and a RN now. Thanks!! miles

Tilheyra[IPM]
Welcome! Great to see someone from Kansas City! I grew up on the Kansas side of the Kansas City area (but I didn't join the 501st until well after I moved away). Your local garrison is the 70th Explorers, which covers Kansas and most of Missouri: https://www.70thexplorers.com/ You should be able to find local help as much of their membership is clustered in Kansas City (and Saint Louis as well). The FISD forum here is great to explore, do lots and lots of research, and ask questions about your build. I highly recommend creating a build thread here so you can post all of your progress photos and ask all the questions you have. However, local help is always great, especially if you are working on a complicated task.

JBar[TK]
I'm not near Kansas but welcome. Assuming you're building a stunt ANH stormtrooper you can create a build thread here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ Also this All in One Guide is my favorite resource: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/49412-all-in-one-tk-anh-stunt-index-of-resources-by-maskedvengeance/

Tarragon[TK]
Welcome Miles. Not sure if you are aware, but there’s also a Star Wars club your son can join. All he needs is a dark side or light side costume. It can be made out of any material, there are no specifications. Or you can go the store purchased option. The group for under 18 years of age is The Galactic Academy. galactic-academy.net This way you can both enjoy trooping together.
