The Great Lake Garrison has been supporting events I host for the St. Baldrick's Foundation for many years, absolutely love them.

Their sense of community is respectable and prompted me to sign up after seeing a dedicated lone trooper carrying the weight of an event on his own this year.

I'm located about 30 miles north of Detroit (Washington Twp) and happy to see there are a number of members in my area. As I carefully start cutting away, will most likely ask questions (after excessive research) on here and across the web to get this kit built in short order. If anyone wants to do a build party, we do have ample room and a pub in the house.

Also picked up a 3d printer for accessories while I waited for my WTF kit to arrive.

Welcome to FISD, Michael! It's always great to hear stories of new recruits joining up after experiencing the work of club members! You're right at home here, and a great many troopers will be here to follow along with your TK journey and assist you with your build. When I first started the assembly of my own kit I amassed an abundance of saved threads which I've now compiled into the resource linked below. Hopefully the wisdom documented by our predecessors in the listed threads can be as helpful to you as they were me!

Appreciate the warm welcome. Working my way in matching up the rights and lefts with some trimming to get used to the process.

Nice work, you can post a build thread here, great way to get feedback ;)

Looks like you're off to a good start. Definitely would love to see a build thread. It both helps you as well as future troopers build their kits. There's a lot of good info that people chime in with too. I have a Walt kit myself and it's a great kit to learn all the ins and outs of a TK

Welcome recruit and future trooper.  The Empire and your Empire need you.

Like the others have said, reach out to the FISD and also your local Garrison and squad.  They likey both have recruit FB pages and you can attend local armor parties to meet your squad mates and get build tips and help.  You're not in this alone trooper!
