Voice Comm System

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been wanting to get a voice system for my TK for a while and have just been dragging my feet. Whenever I troop I wish I had it instead of talking through the helmet. With LA Comic Con coming up in October I want to try and get this sorted by then.

I am looking to get the icomm from here: https://voicebooster.com/products/icomm-imperial-communication-system

Wondered if that is still the one to get and also which amp is the one most people use. Is 10W enough or should I look for more?

Battery time is also something I wonder about. The 10W looks like it has 6-8 hours, so wondered if that is accurate. Looks like they sell everything I would need on the voice booster site. (iComm and amp). I am in the US also if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

M

That is the one I purchased and I just purchased the amp that is recommended on that same page.  You'll enjoy it.  So much better when interacting with people.

Been trooping for 12 years with an Icomm, only issue I have had was the internal battery dying, you can get a replacement or fit an external battery, mod here

10 Watt is plenty loud enough and you won't even use that as you can get some feedback. I have my Icomm and Aker behind the chest and use a wired mic, some prefer a wireless mic. I also use a mp3 player for TK background loop.

Some like the Tramp as sounds can be customized https://www.facebook.com/trooperamp/

Is there a different unit (device) or sound for First Order Stormtroopers than original stormtroopers?  Or is it just that the lines they say (particularly at Disney) are different than anything in the original movies, and thus I'm mentally making them different when they aren't?  Also on TRAmp's facebook (store?) page, which I've seen many links to, there's no information or link on how to buy a unit.  Am I missing something, or does one just contact/message them?  Thanks!

Yes OT troopers have the static burst were as the First Order troopers do not, lines are also different.

Many of us use our own lines, I use the Icomm unit with an Aker amp for OT trooper and a standard Aker amp for FO trooper.

I also use a mini mp3 to play loops of background sounds occasionally, as  sometimes swap to a preset player with remove switches.

For my TK I use and Icomm and an Aker amp.

I use 2 relay remotes to activate start/stop and select, once the remote is stripped they are only a little larger than a CR2032 battery they fit nicely into gloves, with a loop of elastic glued to them so they stay on the fingers.

Audio files for OT troopers you can find here

I believe there has been a long wait for any TRamp products, appears to be @ 12 months

If you are looking at TRamps you could contact via email paul@pwhitrow.com ,  message on FB https://www.facebook.com/trooperamp/ or via the forum pwhitrow

There are also sound gloves that can play select recorded lines.

Hey WarOrk.

I use a TKTalkie with an Anker amp.  The TK Talkie allows you to run a background chatter file like what gmrhodes suggested above but will also add the radio clicks and pops when you speak.  Additionally, it can be used with a sound glove to play the classic movie lines if you wish.  I love this thing and am going to incorporate it into my TI too.

You can build it yourself or buy it here: https://tktalkie.com/
