StormTroopa Posted June 27 Report Posted June 27 Hello to all my fellow 13 year olds (I'm 60 now) but in 1977 I was, and still are mentally...So after 9 years of my full RS Props unmade armour/uniform being in a cupboard/garage, and also losing a stupid amount of weight, as originally it was going to be a 1:1 full size statue in my lounge, I am in the process of getting all the bits and pieces needed to start my build and hopefully go trooping. Hope somebody can help. One thing I would love is to find is the rest of the photos I downloaded all those years ago (see attached) as they are the only ones I found that are close up, there are shed loads of YouTube videos of people doing build but they are 10ft away from the camera, and I need detailed, as I cannot afford to get this wrong...I was just quoted £35 plus shipping for two marigold gloves and rubber hand guards!!! Come on!!! 1 Quote
Nairy[Staff] Posted June 27 Report Posted June 27 Hello Mark, and welcome to the home of all things Stormtroopers! They key is research! The best way of building your own kit and getting it right would be to start your own build thread and post images of your progress there. You can ask a questions and draw a cut line with a pencil and upload a photo of your cut line in the thread and you'll have an answer very quickly, as we always have people online and ready to help you out! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ We have a lot of talented builders on here and you will find a bunch of information that you need for building your kit put together in one thread! This one! As for building a great kit, here are some good threads 1 Quote
StormTroopa Posted June 27 Author Report Posted June 27 (edited) Can I just say thank you, as the other group site I am on, seem to be a bit non responsive, unless you ask the right question..But the pencil idea is just great and now I feel more confident with the build. THANK YOU AGAIN! Edited June 27 by StormTroopa 1 Quote
MaskedVengeance[Staff] Posted June 27 Report Posted June 27 Welcome Mark! You’re absolutely in the right place for building your very own TK armor! On the one hand, it’s not the faint of heart, but on the other hand, nearly anybody can do it, even without crafting skills. So many veteran troopers have contributed to the amazing wealth of knowledge on this forum, and as Jonatan mentioned, research is key, but luckily whenever you ask a question most likely somebody will respond with ample detail and perhaps even photo references. We’re here to help you on your journey! And also, I’m pretty sure my gloves and flexible hand guards were around $35. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
