synaptyx Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 The plan is, now that I've primed it, primed it again, filled the bubbles that the priming picked out, flatted it back with wet and dry 600 grit to primer again, to prime it another two times (should I flat it back again here?) I had go to bare resin on some patches that were a bit rough with filler. Then two coats of alu silver paint, then a few coats of satin black, then weather the bugger with sand paper through to the silver. How does that sound? I am a total n00b at painting blasters. Quote
VacTrooper Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 WOW, that's a nice blaster! I dunno, but you folks in the UK have it MADE! Quote
dougefresh Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Aaron -- the blaster looks amazing! You've obviously put in a considerable amount of time pimping it out-- and it shows! Really nice job. My hyperfirm is in the corner right now, moping inadequately. Quote
synaptyx Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Hey guys. It's ready for duty! The first bit of my kit to be finished (that's if I decide not to put the wires on) After the primer, I silvered it with a can of alu spray paint 2 or three coats: Then I satin blacked it; this is the first coat: THEN! Once it was dry... Came the weathering... Otherwise known as the scratching it up with my fingernail. (These are biggies, so you can have a good stare) Barrel: Butt/D-Ring: Right Side: Money Shot: This thing weighs in at 1.6 kilos. That's 3½ lbs! :o Quote
dougefresh Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Looks brilliant, Aaron! *Very* nice prop, my friend! Quote
