Daetrin[Admin] Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 My iComm system from ukswrath makes a ticking sound that increases as I turn up the volume. I haven't touched the system since my last troop - anyone know have any insight why it's not longer working? I recharged the battery and that's not it. Everything is connected. Quote

Hey Paul sorry for the delay. Yea the most common issue is the iComm battery. Let me know if you still have an issue after replacing the battery. Cheers Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted May 2 Author Report Posted May 2 Thanks Tony. I ordered one from AMZN and it will be here Monday, and will update this thread. Just caught me off guard was all. Quote
Nairy[Staff] Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 I've also had the ticking sound, but I think it was the battery for me too. I haven't been able to use mine since I'm no good with things like this so I just plug my mic directly into the other system that you have there in your helmet, and it still sounds good - just not with the voice changer at the end of every sentence! The iComm battery literally takes a couple minutes ro replace. Let me know if I can help. Send me a message if you have any questions. 1 Quote

As for replacement batteries and just swapping it out that would be easy enough for me, I was always thinking that if I would do something it would be the mod so that you could charge it up again! (that's the one solution that seemed to hard for me) 1 Quote

RuneCaster[TK] Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 Did this battery swap work for you? I have had mine do this same clicking sound and I assumed it was the battery. I bought a pair from Amazon and replaced but it still does not work. I still have the clicking sound. Really frustrated as I have never got this system working to my satisfaction. I had it working briefly with the hovi tip speakers but found that while great in the house alone, it was not loud enough to hear at a Con which made it all but useless. But now since getting my hands on a proper Aker 1505, I have not been able to get it to work. Just keeps getting this clicking sound even after a battery replacement. Anyone have any advice for me? Daetrin[Admin] Posted September 10 Author Report Posted September 10 Yup, sure did. Easiest money I ever spent, and I was up and running again in a few minutes. Quote
MaskedVengeance[Staff] Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 Adam posted this a while back, and he actually did this mod on my own iCOMM and it works great! I really would have thought that the clicking was battery related. Did your "new" battery have a date on it? Quote

As Paul mentioned the battery generally resolves the issue, but not always. If you've tried a new battery, also try a different mic. If neither of those resolve the issue it may be the iComm itself. If that's the case I'd be happy to look at it for you. Quote
