We will need the "hero" images at the top and then appropriate images of each component separately. If you feel this is you, please do reach out directly and we can organise and get this CRL live. A reminder to those of you working on this costume that we still need a CRL model. If you are done, or almost done and would like to start this process please do get in contact and we can get this one over the line. 1 Quote
Veist[501st] Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 So this picture shows for me that the main belt has the same colour as the panels and the borders are definitely brighter And this picture from the Premier collection statue shows the back of the kama. Not sure how accurate this is, but it shows how it could be. Left side over right side Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted May 31 Author Report Posted May 31 So far the best screen reference we have is in this post https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/54641-welcome-to-the-captain-enoch-resource-thread-for-crl-creation/?do=findComment&comment=780859 I was seeing it as a pleat but given we've already ruled out a single piece, that crease could easily be more just how it's hanging. In which case a simple overlap could be the truth. I am not a huge fan of using toys as reference but in general they are based on the originals at least to a course degree. I am happy to change the wording to reflect an overlap, but would appreciate some other input on this one. Quote

DANE Posted July 7 Report Posted July 7 Hi everyone, I noticed the holster belt width is not listed. I think it would be a good detail to add to the CRL. It’s hard to just eyeball it, but it looks about 2 1/2” wide. 1 Quote

We should add the word approximately with 2 1/2" as opposed to a hard figure so we don't have GML's out with measuring tapes and potentially delaying approvals. We know from experience, this type of thing has actually happened. 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted July 7 Author Report Posted July 7 I left the measurement off on purpose, as in the past there have been issues with GMLs treating these as an exact measures not guidelines. 2.5" feels about right but we also don't have anything in the reference of a known size to compare against. With that in mind I am currently inclined to let "be proportional to the wearer" in the header do the lifting here and so long as it looks right let it clear. 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted July 17 Author Report Posted July 17 Minor update to the General Construction Notes section to account for the recent changes to the CRL header. 1 Quote

emile1138 Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 I'm working on some Enoch helmets as display pieces, but I'm struggling to figure out the size of the red cogs. Originally I erroneously assumed they would be the standard 2.75" size of the TIE pilot cogs, but once painted on they were WAY too big. Quote

Yiyo[501st] Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 Hi team, Are we looking at a simple glove such as this pattern I have used in the past? From the wording, I believe they fit the description (just need to dig out some burgundy leather). Thanks to all those involved in this CRL, it's a fantastic costume! 1 Quote

I think they would be great for L1(burgundy leather). I imagine this will be the new suit you will be applying for, right?.I look forward to those photos, although for this year's TD, you don't make it, do you? 1 Quote
DANE Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 How close are we to getting the CRL done/approved/published? We still need a model? Quote

azoroes[TK] Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 Hey, sorry for jumping in this lately, I'm pretty close on finishing, so far only the belt is under construction as well as minor fitting tests. If you want to I can start doing some pictures, I'm pretty sure to meet the lvl 3 requirements on nearly every part. Only point I'm pretty sure about is that the back panel of the belt is not with a sewn border arround as the rest of the panels but only the leather flipped arround as there is no colour change at all. The deadline I set myself is in two weeks, that's the latest time I want to be done! Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted September 16 Author Report Posted September 16 Hi Alex, I can't see a WIP on your Enoch build. It would probably best to get some images up for feedback as a first step. Quote

Just uploaded everything I had by hand so far, not a too big forum user as I was more concentrated on my work than on pictures but I think it helps so far. So far belt and kama are missing to bond everything together but soon everything will come together. Quote
azoroes[TK] Posted September 25 Report Posted September 25 (edited) Hey there, back again with some suggestions onto what we could improve at the momentary CRL: I'm also taking some points mentioned in my build thread, so follow it as Anne (my seamstress for all leather parts in this build) also explained pretty good why we made our decisions as we made them. I'm going in bolt font with my suggestions, hope you can follow. I may have some gramatical mistakes as I'm not a native speaker, correction is warmly welcome! Over Skirt There is a red leather or leather like waist band approx 2.5-3x the width of the belt. The top of the band is level with the bottom of the 3rd button down on the abdomen. There are 2 padded panels at the font, these panels are not rectangular and have a slight trapezoid shape. There are two panels at the front, these panels are not rectangular and have a slight trapezoid shape The body of the panel is leather or leather like. The front panels end approximately at the knee. There is a fabric panel behind the padded front panels. There is a leather or leather like panel behind the front panels The bottom is pointed at approx 110° The panel ends mid thigh. Made from the same material as the rear skirt. There is a thin red border on the bottom edge. There are two trapezoidal quilted hip panels, these panels end mid thigh. There are two trapezoidal quilted hip panels, these panels end mid thigh. The quilting forms a vertical diamond pattern. There are two rear fabric panels that form a half skirt. There are two rear leather or leather like panels that form a half skirt. The panels are same length as the front panels. The panels do not wrap past the front of the hip. The panels over lap at the rear, left over right. All panels have a border and backing that matches the waist fabric. The three front panels and the hip panels have a border. The border is slightly brighter than the panel itself. The backing should match the color of the front. The back panels does have a wrapped arround border, only stitched without a different coloured border. Kama is lightly weathered. Here are the reasons that lead me to this conclusion: Why are all panels out of leather or leather like material? By the look of all the wrinkles that are pretty big and long, its most likely to have leather parts all arround. We don't have a suggestion for the side panels and I would leave it like that because I can understand its hard to get this right as the leather from the front and back parts is too stiff to use it with padding, quilting or something like this. Thats the reason we used a color matched piece of sheep leather. Why did I remove the "padded" from the front panels? When using thick leather with the border arround its already pretty stiff, padding it would make it stand away from the body, thats not the case. Why did I change the complete border section? It's clearly visible that the border is a different color and texture as the rest of the panel. On the rear panels the border is thicker and glossier, also no difference in color from the rest of the panel Also I remodeled the section that there should be a backing in fabric as I can't see prove that there is a backing, but the color should definatly match the front of the panel. What else could we do about it? What about removing the material suggestions and setting it only for higher levels? As long as the look matches that shouldn't be a problem, right? For example we have cracks and gold leaving as lvl 3, in my opinion golden painted color is ruining the look much more. No backing or padding visible at the front panels. Also big wrinkles on the back Also from behind everything indicates it's leather or leather like material. Also it's clearly visible that the bands on the night troopers are made out of another material as they have a totally different color Time stamps where the kama is in movement: EP6 - 31:00 remaining EP6 - 28:00 remaining EP6 - 26:10 remaining EP8 - 32:30 remaining Edited September 26 by azoroes Added the suggestion for material choice in higher levels Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 Hi Alex, and thank you for the feedback. As Chris mentioned, this is a learning curve for us, coming from all hard armour, so we are slowly learning. I have a set contact, who has given us a couple of small pieces of information on general costumes from the show, but as you can understand with NDA's etc there isn't a great deal they can share. I'm still working on that to get clarity on a few things, so I hope we can get some useful hints that may help us out here. Magnificent costume sir, I love your level of detail, it's beautiful. 2 Quote
azoroes[TK] Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 Hi Andrew, I'm always happy to help! If you can get informations from set please share them with us, but please keep in mind even they don't always know everything about their costumes. I once talked to a (star wars) costume designer and he was surprised about a few things... Man he designed the thing and I still knew more details about it? So that's why I only go with what's to be seen and proved. One question to the belt as a non native speaker, does "is closed at the rear" mean the closure is on the back side or does it mean the belt is closed at the front and nothing is at the back? Hope we can move on soon. Everything except the kama (and my interpretation of belt part) seems fine to mee! Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 Generally speaking, the belt closure is the buckle section, or at least that was my understanding. Rear would mean closing at the back not the front as a ANH TK the belt wraps around from the front and closes at the back behind the Thermal detonator. This may just be a simple error as I thought the Enoch belt closed at the front, but I could be mistaken. Quote
azoroes[TK] Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 Okay, then it was just bad reading of mine. As far as I was able to tell it's closed at the front with some kind of buckle as there are holes on the belt (as for example the tie or officer belts from the original trilogy), only wrapped in leather. 1 Quote
