Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 Hi! I hope all of you are feeling very well. For several years now I had not been able to start the project of a Death Trooper, one of them is that I delved into other 501st costumes, the most ambitious was Cad Bane. At the beginning of 2023 I started working on Tk's helmet to turn it into a zombie. I was fortunate enough to investigate this wonderful forum where I found very valuable information. Without further words I will show you how the project is going… Quote

Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 (edited) Let's start with the helmet, it is made with smooth on. Edited January 17 by Darth Uther Pictures are too heavy Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 I drew with a marker the damage that I want to break from the helmet. I designed a logical story for the damage to this brave stromprooper, based on an explosion near him, at the time the outbreak began. 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 Once I was done with the damage to the helmet I started to make the mess with coffee bean residue. A great friend from the 501st taught me this technique to start giving it that old, worn-out feel. 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Good luck with the build, look forward to seeing more. Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 (edited) This is how the first layer was left to get it dirty. As for the details, I also started them at the same time. Edited January 17 by Darth Uther 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 (edited) Finally, continue giving it several layers of paint with very faint yellow, brown, black and a little green, all with an almost dry flat brush. The fake blood is dark and to give it that coagulated effect I mixed it with transparent epoxy glue. Edited January 17 by Darth Uther 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 Ok, once the helmet was finished I decided to work on a prosthetic with the aim of being a real zombie under TK armor. I know the CRL doesn't mention anything about prosthetics but I want to wear the helmet, then take it off and be a real walking dead. Quote

It is entirely up to your garrison if they will allow you to have the helmet off while trooping. There have been a few over the years at celebrations and other conventions 1 Quote

Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 18 Author Report Posted January 18 (edited) Fortunately I have very talented friends from the 501st in Mexico City (Aldo and Daisy thank you so much) and of course my wife Sandy, they helped me do a face cast from the beginning. We use dental alginate, orthodontic plaster, plaster bandages and pieces of Styrofoam. Edited January 18 by Darth Uther 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 18 Author Report Posted January 18 Once the facecast was over, the face of a zombie was sculpted in plasticine. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 Some very talented members indeed, looking forward to seeing how it turns out Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 18 Author Report Posted January 18 Once the modeling was completed, the details began. 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 19 Author Report Posted January 19 Plaster was used to extract a record of the modeling and then silicone was worked to extract the positive. 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 19 Author Report Posted January 19 The registration of the teeth in the plasticine was perfect to later glue them to the silicone. 1 Quote
Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 19 Author Report Posted January 19 The progress with the painting is 50% and once the prosthetic is finished we will continue working with the armor. 1 Quote

Darth Uther[TK] Posted January 24 Author Report Posted January 24 We continue with the tests, paint is missing, however the prosthetic fits perfectly. 1 Quote
WilliamZ[501st] Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 (edited) Dude! This is looking killer. The open mouth on the helmet seems to be a popular trend and is actually a thing in the book if you haven't read it. That's what I did with my TK. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
