Trime Mudor Posted August 26, 2023 Report Posted August 26, 2023 (edited) Hey everybody! I hope you are all doing great! I have a huge problem... I painted tubestripes with stencils and when I peeled them the glue remains on the helmet. The helmet is spray painted so isopropanol is unfortunately not an option. Please help me ! I'm so mad because the rest works fine... Thanks for looking, Tristan Edited August 27, 2023 by Trime Mudor Quote
riveting Posted August 26, 2023 Report Posted August 26, 2023 (edited) Hey Tristan, Hmmnn a sticky problem, If it was me, I would wait for the paint to fully cure and once this has happened, very carefully using a Q tip with warm water (diluted a little liquid soap) slowly rub between the lines and around them, slowly soften the glue and erase the adhesive that way. Hope fully someone on here might have first hand experience and be more help? good luck Edited August 26, 2023 by riveting 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 26, 2023 Report Posted August 26, 2023 You could also try some automotive polish, a rag with a sharp piece of plastic can get in between the stripes, just have to be careful, I use something sharp in the rag for more control. There are other products like GooGone which gets rid of sticky residue, I would test on some scrap plastic first before attempting the helmet to make sure it doesn't melt the plastic. 1 Quote
