Hello all,

After sitting on a couple of the Anovos marketing kits for years I have finally decided its time to build/finish a First Order trooper. So with that in mind I am putting up a build thread here. Its been a while since I did a full build thread so lets see how this goes.

Onto the fun and weird stuff. So as mentioned, I have a couple of the marketing kits, but I am in the process of selling both of them. I have elected to use the DN kit for my build as recommended by members in my Garrison. I do plan in the future to get a couple parts from IS for other builds and I have many of his other kits.

Alright so here is the list

Armor: DN

Helmet: DN

Gaskets: GeekyPinky for cloth, exploring options for rubber

Boots: Crow but may change to KT

Gloves: Endor Finders

Neckseal: GeekyPinky

Holster: Self made machined aluminum

Paint: TBD

Accessories: All of them! I have a white and red DN pauldron, in house 3d printed blasters, tack vest(unknown maker), backpack from BSP(I know TLJ didnt have one but ill make it for fun!)

The armor bits are arriving today so I will be sure to get them unboxed and start working right away. I have a deal with a bunch of garrison mates that I need to finish this before I move onto anything else(with exception of my wife's armor) so they will be keeping me in check.

Happy building!

Okay so I have been doing some reading and talking with others over the past few months leading to this and from what I gather, the forearms on the DN kit need some attention as well as a few other items.

I will cross most of them as they come across after the armor is delivered and I decide how best to approach them. The biggest one that was pointed out is the TD. I do plan to 3d print a replacement and will be starting on that today.

If there is any advice anyone has on the DN kits, please let me know

I am also looking for paint recommendations. I dont mind spending the money for custom matched paint. Does anyone have a good paint code that will match the DN TLJ premium helmet? I am sure if I look around I will find it(I just have not looked yet) but it also doesnt hurt to ask!

Looking forward to seeing the progress

With the DN kits they do need some adjustments, forearms need a triangle added to the rear. Seams need to be glued on the yoke to back and also on the sides of the abdomen. Some have been ABS paste, although a slow process it does mean the armor doesn't have to be painted which is a big bonus compared to the first runs of armor from Anovos.

Trimming armor today! Some blasters are finished printing and am assembling them now. GeekyPink gaskets ordered, waiting for KT to open back up so I can get some better boots, and the red pauldron arrived! I am so glad to get back into the FO troopers. They are a passion of mine and although I never finished my last ones, this one will get finished!

After looking back at my items I do have a set of PVC gaskets from Jim Lau.

Other items in progress. I just finished resin printing the MrPoopie forearm tracks with the hole for the M5 bolt as well as the replacement riser for the holster.

I do have a couple questions.

First the holster, I have a resin wedge from Dan from many years ago that I had planned to use in my original build. Should I use that as well or is that not appropriate for TLJ style builds?

Second for the Executioner helmet from DN, what is a good paint match for the black stripe? I know I am getting way a head of myself but should I decide to go that route, just seeing what is out there.

So far as I’m aware the riser for the holster isn’t necessary with DN kits. At least the ones I’ve seen submitted in my garrison it’s not been something I’ve noted as needing adjustment.

Asking again, but is there any off the shelf paint that is a good match to the black on the DN executioner trooper helmet?

I plan to get back to this soon. I am striving to have it approved by the end of the year as my 20th approved costume!(not counting my retired ones)

I used a matt black, from local automotive shop, was their own brand so not available outside Australia. I also used a matt clear because every time I'd touch the matt black it would leave marks, clear has reduced this immensely.

It's a great feeling hitting those milestones, I hit 25 then started to on sell some of the costumes that I don't wear often.
