Rebels TK Pauldrons....questions

Wow cant believe there arent any post in this section, and honestly not sure this is where they even go, but had a question based of the Rebels TK CRL. 

 

The pauldron is allowed as an add on accessory item, which is great, but there is not greater defined detail on it or stand alone for what I am looking to do. Is there a way to get this insignia added to the CRL, or produce a new (additional) crl for the TKs that are on Thrawn's ship, that have this decal on the Pauldron? As it stands, if I add this decal and then submit my costume, it will be denied as the decal is not part of the CRL. any help here would be greatly appreciated!

as one of the 5 approved rebels tk's i request that the  chimera pauldron and dlt19 blaster be offically added to the crl for the rebels tk

Looks pretty straight forward and would be added as an accessory to the current Rebels TK CRL.

If they carry a different weapon to standard Rebels TK's then that would form part of wearing the pauldron.

If someone has made one of these then we will need a photo to be used in the CRL.

Just look at the pauldron images in other CRL's and that's the type of photo we will require.

I talked to someone in Spain that is making my Pauldron (Orange) and he said he would take the puffy out of it and instead install some type of rigid material to confirm to the CRL. If I cant get one of the other approved Rebel TKs to send it, I will submit my own once it is done to be used in the CRL. Should be within a week or 2

If he's building from scratch you could also mention the closure is different to the ANH style, no rivets and goes under the pauldron not on top and is thin strap not rounded.

i have two that i wear with my rebels tk a "standard" size with the chimera patch and a more correctly sized animated style it is about 10% larger and matches the visial reference better i am anning on adding the symbol later

I would suggest that the CRL states that a patch, or vinyl decal that represents the insignia be acceptable for basic at least. if a higher requirement will be in place then I think we can also discuss that

Just sent the guy making my pauldron on these photos. turns out he is a GML in the Spanish Garrison and is excited to try and make a more accurate option for the CRL instead of the current photo.

Personally I think the flatter appearance looks better, embroidered looks too lumpy and doesn't match the references

 

  

 

 

I see someone offering flat rubber patches on etsytoo but they look too thick

 

I would think vinyl would be the way to go for L3

Totally agree. which is why i would suggest that a patch for basic might be acceptable, but for higher levels it needs to be paint or a decal. but obviously yall have final call on that

Just comparing with a few other troops.

 

Dark troopers appear flat

 

Live action droid also flat

 

Even officer appears flat

 

Live action officer appears embroidered (thicker appearance)

 

 

We could also take this approach, flat vinyl or paint L3 for Rebels and if we get a live action we ask for embroidered (dependant on references of course) but yes I agree for basic vinyl, paint or embroidered should all be fine.

I couldnt agree more! I am all for that. I will be pushing this for L3 approval, but also want to have basic approvals in mind in this discussion. Like the references and totally agree about the live action. Something tells me if we get live action we might not see this on the pauldron though.

+1 on flat. It should totally be layered vinyl. Or even a PVC patch.

I also agree on using vinyl! Since it is smacked on by the animation studio with color textures, a sticker is like the real world version of that, except from painting it straight on ofc!

I also agree, the embroidered version doesn't seem quite right and should be vinyl.

 

So we need to make sure the image is Non Puffy style ( great technical term) lol

Need to include Red and Gray, colours.

If puffy is incorrect perhaps exclude it entirely so it must be the flat Rebels style from basic lvl.

Can have Chimera logo on, then for higher level, must be vinyl layered maybe, not sticker.

Not to  forget, this is an accessory so it is optional.
