Sithping[TK] Posted October 31, 2022 Report Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) My first official troop on Saturday in Edinburgh with the incredible crew at Imperial Scottish Garrison 501st Legion helping the Edinburgh children's hospital charity, followed by a troop supporting the Catherine Mcewan Foundation at Falkirk Stadium drive in Movie Nights showing The Empire Strikes Back! It was an experience being in my armour in public for the first time and really enjoyed it. Especially the joy it brings to people seeing these iconic characters brought to life. Pictures to follow I give permission for FISD to repost my photos on social media in an appropriate fashion. Edited yesterday at 12:54 PM by Sithping Troop count # 2 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 31, 2022 Report Posted October 31, 2022 Congratulations trooper, you never forget your first troop. Many find they have sore cheeks afterwards from smiling so much, then you realise why was I smiling, nobody can see me. 3 Quote

Sithping[TK] Posted December 31, 2022 Author Report Posted December 31, 2022 Had two wonderful evenings trooping at The music of Hans Zimmer vs John Williams at Usher Hall Edinburgh & The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Thoroughly enjoyed serving the Empire in the auditoriums with live orchestras it really added to the audience experience! We also interacted with the guests in the foyers at the interval and departure. Awesome way to bring 2022 to an end, here's to 2023! More pictures to follow... Quote

Sithping[TK] Posted February 15, 2023 Author Report Posted February 15, 2023 The following message is from our Garrison Facebook page. On the 11th and 12th of February, myself, Scott McNair (TI/IG36963) and my commanding officer, Alex Dick (CT13128) of the Imperial Scottish Garrison were in attendance at the Capital Sci-Fi Con 2023 . We had the great pleasure of inducting both Tina Simmons and John Simpkin as honorary members of The 501st Legion on behalf of Albin Johnson. Tina, who played a rebel technician in The Return Of The Jedi, is very well known on the convention scene ,and is also a great supporter of the 501st legion, and was genuinely lovely to meet and deal with over the two days. She was honoured to be inducted and presented with an honorary member plaque and certificate, as well as a 501st legion patch and both our imperial Scottish garrison patch and trading patch. John Simpkin, who is well known for his role as Klaatu in The Return Of The Jedi, and also for playing a stormtrooper, was visiting Scotland for the first time, we wanted to induct him to the 501st as we felt he would make a great member and for his work in Star Wars and also for his support of the 501st legion. John was touched to be inducted and was a true gentleman, and very pleased to accommodate us over the two days. John was also presented with an honorary member plaque and certificate, which he was honoured to receive, and a 501st legion patch and our garrison and trading patches. We were also very grateful to have 3 more honorary members at the event, Femi Taylor, who played Oola, in Return Of The Jedi, Nick Joseph who played Arhul Hextrothon,a medal bearer in A New Hope ,and Angus MacInnes who played Gold Leader, also in A New Hope. As it’s not often in Scotland we have so many honorary members at one event, we asked their permission to have a picture taken with all 5 members together, which they were very happy to do for us. Not only did all the honorary members live up to their reputations as consummate professionals but they were genuinely lovely people, with great personalities. They were all very kind and approachable and made it a great experience for all involved. And an event that as a garrison we will never forget. I’d like to thank the staff at Capital Sci-Fi who went the extra mile for us, and accommodated us with our requests and also took good care of all of the honorary members . Also I must thank the rebel legion and the UK R2 Builders for their help in making the weekend an amazing event and experience for everyone who attended. I need to thank all of the Imperial Scottish Garrison for all their hard work over the two day in putting this together with myself and Alex Dick. Sithping[TK] Posted March 3, 2023 Author Report Posted March 3, 2023 I was trying a photo editing app of myself in armour with a flag I have in my collection. I'd love to learn more about photoshop skills. 2 Quote

Sithping[TK] Posted March 4, 2023 Author Report Posted March 4, 2023 Today was my 8th outing as a TK for the ISG, everyone looked on point and the sun was shining, there was also some great exhibitors and a busy attendance by the public. Unfortunately I took ill mid morning and had to end my day. My Garrison buddies were very supportive and insisted I got home for some rest, it was good advice and I feel much better now. Special thanks to our crew spotters and handlers for capturing the day on camera. 3 Quote

Sithping[TK] Posted March 17, 2023 Author Report Posted March 17, 2023 Today marks my 10th troop in my armour and it was something a little different, a wedding. The newly Wed's surprised their guests with an appearance from our Garrison, everyone including the staff were thrilled to see us escort the bride to the Imperial march theme to her groom. After the ceremony we had many photographs taken with the bridal party and guests. This was a really cool troop to attend, I thoroughly enjoyed it. 4 Quote
