Hi Michael. and thank you for your submission!  One of us will be with you as soon as we can, so hang in there, sir.

Before one of us get's going on your approval, we need you to take care of one item for us, Michael.  As per the CRL for Level 2, Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide .

oaso94s.jpg?1

I have been in contact with Justin, and he is going to help you with this as well as any items that you need to get that Centurion badge under your name!

Speaking of which, I'm jumping the gun a bit but for Level 3 one fairly easy thing that will need to be done is trim down the edges of your large ab-button plate.  As stated in the CRL:

Plate does not overlap the edges of this area and shall show a definite straight cut edge around all sides

                      Suggested                                               Reference image

NAoy7LX.jpg    wza26vp.jpg?1

It doesn't have to be a perfect rectangle of course, but needs to be reduced in size (in the reference image, note the gap between the edges of the plate and the edges of the raised area below it).  Getting it off may be a bit tricky, but it can be done.  Once you get the ab/kidney gap worked out, please post up an updated pic so we can get the ball rolling!

Good feedback, thank you! Michael assembled his suit with E6000 so it shouldn't be too bad to remove and trim the panel, and we'll watch for those gaps and retake photos ensuring they're tighter or replace strapping as needed.

The new green screen wall is just for you two and will be even better utilized next time, @justjoseph63 and @gmrhodes13, but the fence isn't going anywhere either :P

Is there ANYTHING else the team can see that may need fixing for Centurion? Ideally we'll retake the photos once and then be able to use them for a successful L3 submission as well...

Great to see, just a couple of things, try to take either in shade or indoors, not half in the sun ;)

Hi Michael,

I'm working on your review now and in order to continue I'll need you to do me a favor brother.

The paint on your teeth needs to be dialed back a bit.  As per the CRL for Basic approval, the "Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area".  This is actually a very common issue in Anovos Helmets (mine is too) and an easy fix!  A non acetone paint remover and a toothpick or two and a few cotton swabs to remove the extra parts at the top.  10-15 minutes of work on this and you will be golden!

                                        I1lhUgG.jpg        w7I2K3W.jpg

Looking forward to seeing the updated pics so we can get that EI badge under your name, trooper!   :salute:

Trimmed and edges squared on Rascal's belt sander and I touched the blue paint up a bit as well while I had it off.

This took WAY more than 15 minutes, but the paint has been cleaned up on the teeth and a bit on the vocoder tops as well.

Let me know if anything else is needed and thank you!

Looks MUCH better, Michael!  Did you end up just having to tighten the belt a bit or did you have to tighten the strapping as well?  Excellent job on trimming that large ab-button plate!

I know these particular screw heads are normally covered by the chest plate and not seen, but I would make sure the heads of all the ones that can be seen are painted white.  ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I actually did paint them with a dab of white paint last night.

Hi Michael,

You did a great job with the Ab plate and the Ab/kidney gap sir. It looks much better  :jc_doublethumbup:

We are almost there and just the last small request to be ready.

Even tough the frown paint looks better, there is a tiny bit more than there should be and will need another 15 minutes paint session to be perfect.

Thank you.

Hi Michael, and thank you for your EIB application!

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry.  Congratulations!  :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly;

In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team.  Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor.  Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions.

You did a fast and great job with the requested fixes Michael thank you.  Now let start with your review.

Starting from top, your brow trim seems to be a little low , principally in the center. I have seen this in a couple of Anovos Helmets and with a tab of E6000 or AC Glue you can get that EP4 look.

                                                                                                                                           Reference Images

N11hNk2.jpg                         iu7Ibyv.jpg?1

Ideally, the ear screws should go aligned with the rear edge of the Traps  so we strongly suggest to move them.

                                                                                                                                            Reference Images

  rFDaBdj.jpg   3C5JczK.jpg                                 Lgaaopi.jpg         NzFje3J.jpg

The paint on your vocoder looks pretty good, but it should be more symmetrical with more definition on the tops of the raised ridges.  Easy fix!!

                                                                                                                           Reference Images

AZCuyq3.jpg                            xSY3FDW.jpg?3    ebxjEWJ.jpg?1

Looking at your Shoulder Bridges, the right one looks misaligned causing it to raise a little. A hot water bath could do the job.

z4FXqB6.jpg?1     KmZEqda.jpg?1     OqeCUQD.jpg?1

Your TD is sitting quite high, so you might see if you can push it down further, or possibly 'unroll' the clips so it sits lower.

                                                                                                                                    Reference Images

4uIOIuD.jpg             w2v9PKo.jpg         xVKbWHb.jpg?1

Even thought it is not mentioned in the CRL, the Thermal detonator's metal clips should be squared (not rounded) on the control panel side and the screws going near the end.

                                                                                                                                                                     Reference Image

K0o5DDY.jpg  fwxJ2y1.jpg             VoclqHR.jpg

This is not mentioned specifically into the crl, but again,  ideally the rivets of the thigh ammo pack should go a little higher as per the references.

                                                                                                                                                           Reference Images

 kxyVL5X.jpg  nwrKsgc.jpg     qCTzKbR.jpg     rrHFDbb.jpg?1

Looking at your lower back  area, for confort and to avoid "armor bite" you may want to  cut down the tops of the thighs in the rear.

                                                                                                                      Reference Images

EUmYIsw.jpg         zwcKYut.jpg o3V2pRX.jpg

This is all in the suggestions section.

                                                                                   ***************************************************

Centurion Requirements;

In this section we prepare you for Centurion.  Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper.

CRL: Ear screws shall be slotted, flat topped, countersunk

The ear screws are very tight and cause them to deform a bit and the screw that goes down the other side is a little out. This is easy to fix in less than a minute with a screwdriver. Just give it a little left turn to loosen them a little and a right to the bottom one and it will be perfect

0P2cuWu.jpg?1    1Dex98p.jpg?3    Pa4yZcK.jpg

Moving on,  your ABS Belt looks misaligned with respect to the center of the ab plate,  this looks like a dressing issue cause in other photos it looks ok. something to check every time you put on you armor.

AS8c3AC.jpg          JyroCXx.jpg    nskc2AA.jpg

CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box.

This is a common issue and an easy one to fix.  Moving them outward and then applying a dab of E-6000 on the rear of the strap will take care of this and keep it from wandering.

                                                                                                                                       Reference Images

du4ppqA.jpg    6bpbHuK.jpg      7H607mN.jpg?3        SFZDlTK.png

CRL Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size.

Your arm armor is very large compared to your arm size. We absolutely welcome troopers of all different body types, but we do expect that for our highest level of approval, the armor is sized appropriately to the wearer's body. From the side the arm armor looks the good, but from the front and rear, they're quite large. We've noticed this a lot recently with Anovos armor so it may be a matter of how the arm pieces are shaped. In order to size down the biceps and forearms, you'd need to carefully remove the cover strips, trim back the pieces some, and re-glue them. A hot water bath may also be helpful in re-shaping the curve.

                                                                                                                                          Reference Images

QrItoaX.jpg      7Z9uV9Y.jpg?1        o9Xn2Tt.jpg

uXwbky9.jpg         eGhSkrs.jpg

The small Ab Plate looks to have some return edge (border). As you can see in the references it goes flat. a little more trimming and you're ready.

                                                                                                  Reference Images

              U83oDuK.jpg                           UzU1W3j.jpg?5        wFB6j8I.jpg?1

Crl: Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top.

A possible solution I would suggest to fix this is try to raise the abdominal area a little, it seems that you still have space,  to close that gap. You could also lower the back plate a bit from the shoulders connection.

7BkYr9F.jpg       OOil2iE.jpg?1

Although it may seem like there is a lot of work ahead, most are small adjustments and some more complicated and can take more time to do but not so difficult.

Congratulations again Trooper, we are we are confident that you will do the next step to Centurion Level and we are here to help you if you need.

:salute:
