KeeganTK Posted July 18, 2022 Report Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) Hello Everyone, Background on myself and TK info/build: I’m in my mid 40’s. Been in love with Star Wars since childhood. I retired from the United States Air Force in Nov 2014. Inside my retirement box (Shadow Box), I have a Stormtrooper action figure. I have been living in Alaska since Dec 2014. I have been volunteering at my local 501st Garrison since May 2018. I have done numerous trooping’s with them as support crew: May The 4th zoo day, hospital visits, 4th July parade float and fund raising at the state fair. Since I have been working on my TK build, I have asked the garrison TKs many questions and getting hands on with their completed builds. I love getting lesson lessoned from them. The hospital visits get me in the feels and looking forward to wearing my bucket to hide my man tears. Male, 5’9, 170lbs BBB day was Aug 2021. Before then and since, I have been gathering soft parts and tools. Armor: WTF. Helmet: WTF. Sent and built at Dave’s Darkside Depot. It has fans and a mic. I noctied some issues with it. I will post phots of them. Boots: IB. Blaster: Hard rubber. With the help from justjoseph63 blaster photos, I have an ANH. I will work on getting ESB blaster down the road. Holster: Thick all black 8 oz leather. I keep the blaster in the holster to shape it for easier removal. Canvas Belt: Not done. Waiting for chest to be done to get measurements. Gloves: Black rubber with cotton inserts soak up sweat. Hand Plates: Latex that came with rubber gloves. Neck seal: Etsy, all black tube type with zipper. Under suit: Amazon, one piece with zipper in the front. Tools: I went to the White Armor got a list from justjoseph63. His links are outstanding and has help me a lot! I believe have all the tools I need. I got extra earth magnets (round and rectangle) and have them in colord cloth, to keep them from braking and to know the polarization. Questions: 1: I have plenty of free time to build, but most of it is 30 minutes one day or the whole weekend. For the times I just have 30 minuets, what can I work on that when the time comes, that shorten the time spent bigger sections? Example: Work on the gray and blue buttons when I have 30 minutes. 2: My think is if I damage and or screw up a section, is to move on to the next section. So, near the end, when I need to reorder a section(s) it’s at one time not, order parts as I go. Trying to cut down on cost of shipping to Alaska. Thank for your time and furure help with childhood dream of becoming a Stormtrooper! Edited July 20, 2022 by KeeganTK Font was in Black Quote
KeeganTK Posted July 20, 2022 Author Report Posted July 20, 2022 This is a WTF cast and built by Daves Darkside Depot. I noticed the right front and rear ear cups has a gap. This an issues and if so, fixable? Hopefully this is not an issues also. The left lenses has a big gap, maybe due lence being flat. Over all the bucket looks passable from my amateur point of view: My build is an ESB, but I got an ANH E-11 blaster (sad face). I will look for the correct blaster down the road. Holster; 8oz leather. This correct for ESB TK build? IB: I will post later photos of what I have built so far. Quote

Glad to read you're on the way to become an Imperial Stormtrooper All of us were in your feet once and know the feeling. If you haven't done yet, take a look to others ESB builds HERE so you can see others work and decide the best way to build your armor , receive tips and advices. We are here to help you. Also this thread could be useful too. About the helmet, it looks ok. Those "issues" are common in the OTTKs Reference images 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 20, 2022 Report Posted July 20, 2022 Welcome to the forums, if you do wish to reduce the ear gap (although ok as is) here are a couple of great threads 1 Quote
KeeganTK Posted May 8, 2023 Author Report Posted May 8, 2023 Hello, it's been awhile. I trimmed, sanded and kept lot of the edge on to size up later. Question: Are these shins labeled correctly? R/L O = R/L Out & R/L I = R/L Inside. From what I see RI has a deeper angle. Other that, they all look the same. Also, looking at the OG film armor, I don't see return edge on the bottom of the shins, correct? What about the top? and how much and rounded OR angles? Top Shin: Bottom shin: Quote

KeeganTK Posted May 11, 2023 Author Report Posted May 11, 2023 Left & Right Inside..... I see the Left bottom hangs more, that the outside? Right & Left outside.... the Right, top/side has a more longer sharper angle on the side.... Quote

KeeganTK Posted May 11, 2023 Author Report Posted May 11, 2023 I look over the end of the thread about shins. Looks like WTF is a pain to tell the difference. The clue for me is the inside left ridge dip. 1 Quote
magni[TK] Posted May 11, 2023 Report Posted May 11, 2023 You have them paired right but labeled the wrong legs. The steep angle is for sniper plate. Which is why left shin is shorter than right. So L is the right and R is the left. Good Luck Future Trooper 1 Quote
TKSpartan[Staff] Posted May 12, 2023 Report Posted May 12, 2023 They look ok to me, you could try using painters tape to get them together and make a fit test 1 Quote
FN1313[TK] Posted May 24, 2023 Report Posted May 24, 2023 Those look correct, if still in doubt though you could do the trimming on the front down to the correct size that would be behind the cover strip and then set side by side again and verify.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
