Knock-off patch?

I don't remember where or when I got this patch, but I just now noticed that it says "501st Squad" (???) with Vaders Fist in Aurebesh.  It's a 20th anniversary patch of some sort but has no LFL branding.  Has anyone seen this before?  Just curious.  Thanks!

 

It looks yellow in the pic but is actually made with shiny gold colored thread.

Thanks, Glen!    I didn't realize what I had here, and forgot that the 501st was originally going to be a Squad. I think I'll hang onto it!

 

2017 saw the twentieth anniversary of the mighty Legion.
1997 saw the beginning, with a small but proud squad.

Currently there is a 25th anniversary patch and coin up for sale

25 years since the original website launched a Legion. Detention Block 2551 was where hapless stormtrooper TK-210 recounted his misadventures all while trying (and failing) to stay at his post. It was such a hit that fans from around the world sent in their Stormtrooper photos and it sparked the little club 501st Squad which exploded into the Legion.

Albin continues to make Legion merch without LFL C present and without consultation I would wager.

Is the loop hole 501st Squad?  I think one day it will catch up with him.

The other question is, does he even provide full transparent details to Legion for auditing etc.

Being the founder should not exclude him from what is put apon any other Legion member that makes/sells merch that bares 501st markings.

I guess LMBO's could look into it if they dared or cared. Many have asked the questions in the past but little has been done to date, I guess even the mouse could get involved if they really cared in loss of earnings or the use of their IP in this manner although I would think Albin would probably has been given the ok as he donates excess funds to charities

Technically not Legion merch, more of "personal" merch from Albin, so really no need to follow all these rules.

End of the day it does look like no one cares but no harm in asking or posing the question right.
