Forearm armor question

I’m oddly built in some ways so in order to fit my forearm armor I needed to cut it down one inch and thusly removed a square from the outside edge detail. Will this still pass having one less square in the row on the outside of the forearm?

I believe he means he took an inch of length off from the wrist area, making the whole forearm shorter, and this got rid of one of the 11 square indents along the side of the forearm.
