Juliusthegreat Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Either I am blind or I don't find any other thread about this before. . I have 3mm thick green lenses I want to know how to shape into my bucket. The lenses are bent a bit but need a little more at some places. I know I could use a heat gun or using my oven. Using the oven seems easiest, sounds like heating up 3mm plastic with heat gun will take a while. What is the best way to do this? If I use the oven, what degree should I use? I found a video on youtube where a guy used his oven. But I want some more feedback before I try anything. Thanks! Quote

riveting Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 It should work with any oven with a controlable heat setting, I don't have gas one either it's electric. Failing that you could try the boiling water route! Quote
Smitty Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 I use the boiling water method. Just remember to wipe off the water from the lens right when you take it out of the pot, otherwise you'll have cooling spots on the lens where the water droplets were. Quote

So you consider this metod to be better? How long does the lenses normaly need to be boilded? How long time do you have before the lenses gets to hard to form? More questions but don't want to get my egg damaged...lenses I mean . Quote
