I have recently purchased an old TFA FOTK kitp, unfortunately the paint is a mess, cracked all over. It's an older Jims kit based on the info I have.

Going to start by stripping all the paint to see what other repairs may be required.

Here are some pics of the current state.1deb22b9a2c8087295474d2c7e339c0c.jpg9b379ea4dd21d6d09cdb2b03cf3bb961.jpg87981989ed29e187b1be999854ac6b2d.jpg400a16a507838d30ef824ba4cd834990.jpgee0252506ef0368861bc15122053cc25.jpg0f1d0dd98c0e1fed7ff5203b1b966392.jpg50400e3f6c21fa4132c90fdd23af8619.jpgc4320cc3a919c2031481336cbaaf1fc1.jpg4cc5e5189663c7e3a72efa058dd6ccf4.jpg72f777ba966e5bf002207ea1c71acc2b.jpgd918b6afa5a88d1cc0480fe54a145425.jpg38f8fa57d585d667e1ea4973b2195103.jpgd5e7460ccd09ded6d41539147a641907.jpg3226d666b629bb9451065bbe1c1954c4.jpg3640c870970b65d61e7def4a2785894c.jpg8bb1697e00fe0c1b24f1ffd8dbabe9a3.jpg

Good luck stripping the paint back, can be a messy job but the better the base the better the finish :duim:

Must be that new ”eggshell-color” they are talking about :smiley-sw013: Kidding aside, good luck and let the sanding begin:duim:

That would be the worst ironing of a uniform I have seen to date  :P

Good luck with the task ahead, plenty of work to get that looking pristine again but it will be well worth it.

Finally getting into this build after much procrastination.

To fix the cracking issues I'm giving all the armour a good surface sand, then coating the armour with a mix of flexy and normal UV resin.

Now to wait for some decent weather to continue the fun. ed9f1ee975a057f0e6789c5c3e16298a.jpg6233c049bbcbc6c1d8a634c28c030faf.jpg1e79de1d2fdb233a06bd891ff1d6604b.jpg

Some more progress on my FOTK. With a coat of resin on the Thermal Detonator, Butt, Cod, Forearm and Bicep armour. 5ccd9ed5d28d6d65c3188a94ffa0b944.jpg2c791ee03f98213cabafdf2927009663.jpg

Thanks to@TheRascalKing for sharing 3D print files for TFA clips (forum link below) now I'm looking to upgrade those on my fibre glass kit to improve accuracy. The only challenge now is to work out the best way to remove the old clips

Those helmet clips look difficult to remove, appear them are either molded in or painted after assembly :(

Making slow progress on repairing the armour. I think I've found the right mix of hard/flexible resin to ensure enough stability while also flexing with the fibreglass so it won't crack.4ad53c83e1157ce394f474d909c3c815.jpg
