TK20187[TK] Posted September 21, 2021 Report Posted September 21, 2021 I have recently purchased an old TFA FOTK kitp, unfortunately the paint is a mess, cracked all over. It's an older Jims kit based on the info I have. Going to start by stripping all the paint to see what other repairs may be required. Here are some pics of the current state. gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 21, 2021 Report Posted September 21, 2021 Good luck stripping the paint back, can be a messy job but the better the base the better the finish 1 Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted September 21, 2021 Report Posted September 21, 2021 Must be that new ”eggshell-color” they are talking about Kidding aside, good luck and let the sanding begin 1 Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted September 21, 2021 Report Posted September 21, 2021 That would be the worst ironing of a uniform I have seen to date Good luck with the task ahead, plenty of work to get that looking pristine again but it will be well worth it. 1 Quote

TK20187[TK] Posted May 9, 2022 Author Report Posted May 9, 2022 Finally getting into this build after much procrastination. To fix the cracking issues I'm giving all the armour a good surface sand, then coating the armour with a mix of flexy and normal UV resin. Now to wait for some decent weather to continue the fun. TK20187[TK] Posted May 14, 2022 Author Report Posted May 14, 2022 Some more progress on my FOTK. With a coat of resin on the Thermal Detonator, Butt, Cod, Forearm and Bicep armour. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk 1 Quote
TK20187[TK] Posted May 20, 2022 Author Report Posted May 20, 2022 Thanks to@TheRascalKing for sharing 3D print files for TFA clips (forum link below) now I'm looking to upgrade those on my fibre glass kit to improve accuracy. The only challenge now is to work out the best way to remove the old clipshttps://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/52039-mrpoopietherascalkings-tfa-tlj-first-order-stormtrooper-clip-greeblies/Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 Those helmet clips look difficult to remove, appear them are either molded in or painted after assembly Quote
TK20187[TK] Posted July 27, 2022 Author Report Posted July 27, 2022 Making slow progress on repairing the armour. I think I've found the right mix of hard/flexible resin to ensure enough stability while also flexing with the fibreglass so it won't crack.Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk 2 Quote
