rtfitzpa[TK] Posted October 29, 2020 Author Report Posted October 29, 2020 Paint is stripped and used painters tape to get better lines. The gray was too dark, likely from mixing with the black that I put down first.I used Castrol Super Clean to take off the paint. Each section soaked for about an hour, then used a toothbrush and running water to remove the paint.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 29, 2020 Report Posted October 29, 2020 If you paint a thin coat of white around the edges it will fill in any bleed areas and stop the black bleeding through. Quote

I thought I’d put the gray down first.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

BUT if you paint the black outline first it is easier to then paint the grey on to the black, you get much straighter lines doing it this way as your not trying to paint thin black lines. Quote

Here’s what my white looks like, but somehow it’s more yellow than the abs. That’s not quite right either...?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 29, 2020 Report Posted October 29, 2020 It's a bit too cream, just go black then, you can always clean up after with toothpicks Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted October 29, 2020 Report Posted October 29, 2020 Take your time - you got this!! Quote
rtfitzpa[TK] Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 This time, the gray is much better!I taped up the inner section now, in an attempt to get as clean a black outline as possible. Lots of scissor work involved to get the right lines.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
rtfitzpa[TK] Posted November 9, 2020 Author Report Posted November 9, 2020 Ok, painting update.Lines are done, but perhaps a tad thick?I little bit of touch up work before the blue stripes.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted November 9, 2020 Report Posted November 9, 2020 Well done, trooper. The grey looks much better. As you say, the black lines are a little thick at the moment. You could thin those out by using your grey paint. If you wanted to, you could enlarge the size of the “tears” as they are currently a little on the small side. Here’s how far I managed to push mine on my TM. Keep up the good work. :-) 1 Quote

gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted November 10, 2020 Report Posted November 10, 2020 I find it a lot easier to paint the black first, you can then go over any thick lines or edges with the grey A few references Quote
