shashachu[TK] Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 Fantastic build, Dan! Just to tick off a box, could you add a photo of the shoulder bell extensions from the outside of the bell? I can clearly see them on the inside bell shot but I can't tell how much they extend past the top of the bell. Something similar to this photo from the CRL: https://databank.501st.com/databank/File:TFA_TK_shoulder_bells.png Quote

ukswrath[Staff] Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 Dude this is a sick build, blows mine out of the water especially when it comes to the details, and the weathering, nice touch. Borderline RPF Quote

Borderline RPF Thanks for the praise. That's more or less what I was aiming for with the build, a replica (as far as the vac formed kit would allow it). There are still a couple small things I may have to change, but overall I'm quite pleased with it 1 Quote
shashachu[TK] Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 Hi Dan, Thanks for your application and the additional shoulder bell photo. You have an absolutely stunning set of armor. CRL and EIB Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Expert Infantry rank. On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions The only suggestion I have here is a minor dressing issue: in some photos your knee armor is a little wonky - they tilt a bit and wander off-center. I'm not sure how they're connected to the gaskets, and obviously they move when you move, but just something to double-check when you're getting suited up. Obviously this is a very small nitpick, but I consider the FOTKs much sleeker and well-polished compared to the OTTK, so these tiny details can make a difference. Reference Image: For those of you reading along, some of you may notice that there is a seam separating the TD and back plate, which contradicts the CRL as it's written today which states it must be seamless. However, this is being updated as we speak to reflect the most current understanding of the armor and how it was built. Reference Image: Centurion Requirements In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. We have nothing here. We'll see you at Centurion! Congratulations again. Quote
R2Dan[TK] Posted June 16, 2020 Author Report Posted June 16, 2020 Thanks for your feedback (and the approval, of course :)) You are right about the knees. They are held on to the gaskets with chicago screws, the gaskets used to be super tight on me, but I recently lost a good bit of weight, which means there is wiggle room, so the gaskets move and with them the knees. I actually didn't notice it though until you pointed it out, so I'll have to look into how to make that stop Don't wander off too far, the Centurion request thread will be up in a minute Quote
TKSpartan[Staff] Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 Congratulations Trooper, welcome to EIB. Awesome Armor build.!!! Quote
