Hi there, thought since I just reopened my Anovos big brown box that I would start a build thread. Had a small crack in the bottom of the front face piece of the bucket, welded back together with good old abs paste. Now to finish helmet build.. yay it’s like Christmas,,,9ae542ab6fde7caafb876b07877c946b.jpg

Good luck with your build! Post lots of pictures. :duim:

Oh, keep in mind that ABS paste does not have much strength - it is mostly a cosmetic fix.  You might want to reinforce the crack on the back with a piece of ABS glued to inside of the helmet or even a bit of old t-shirt material and CA glue (lazy man's fiberglass).  I guess it depends on the severity of the crack.

Started on the helmet, shined it up and put the bucket together, struggling with the bottom rubber piece, any words of wisdom. Close up pic of the “crack”868a4f79f7245dd410ebe49582fb24b1.jpg

Wow, looking great that helmet.

Mine is an Anovos Helmet too and if I can make the same  improvement suggestions I received here , for basic level , the crl states:

Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area.

This is a esay fix, adding a little gray to the edges and you can use some toothpick and mineral spirit (non acetone) to remove some paint.

For higher levels, (we hope you may want to go further  and have the best look to your armor),  I would suggest according to the crl:

Correct 'Hovi mic' aerator tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh, with the rim of the mic and the inside white or painted white.

Changing the hovi mic mesh is easy, I have done several. look at the following photos and you can try or leave it for a future time.

Helmet assembled, but don’t have the covers for the Ear screws, suggestions so I don’t rip off my flesh when trying to put the bucket on? Also padding suggestions, I want to use padding vs hard hat because I don’t have a lot of room in there and know I will need a fan or two... the visor is just set in place for now, likely will cut it downca83d2efbc8b40c7aa4d6dd0b787e39f.jpg&key=d85c3f59fffaa4cca450252fbbd01e0fa6a73ff1ecfc3756877831b0d02ddbae

For covering the screws, i would recommend to trim them first,  you can use a square of foam, glue it with superglue or zap a gap. Place a piece of Velcro to attach the lenses.  This is a practical solution.

another practical solution for padding and easy to clean after trooping.

First, when putting your bucket on know that it NEVER goes straight on, but goes on at an angle and then gets straightened up so that you can see (somewhat) clearly.

Yep it’s very different from my tie helmet and seems that I can only get it on when it is turned to the right....

I have made good progress on my armor build, getting all the arm and leg pieces together, was looking ahead at the abdominal armor and unfortunately my anovos armor kit is missing this piece, anyone know where I can get it?b9a632a3b13501e114f94e67506e564e.jpg

That's a little annoying, normally I'd say contact the supplier but Anovos is not known for the best of communications. You may find someone that has converted to a Sandtrooper as they don't use 4 button ab plates. Maybe post in the sales thread a Wanted To Buy, or even on MEPD
