If you feel more confidence, leave a 0.5 cm  down the line you marked and start to fit , you can use painter's tape or magnets and let us see.

Alright, gonna start on the ears today. I found this interesting video on youtube that seems to make a lot of sense and seems to work for the guy in the video. was wondering if this is a better option than trial and error with a dremel. thanks

I also am not sure where to trim the ears to to even start for fitting,like how much do I leave? i sketched it out in pencil where I thought to trim first. 

The ears in that video are a little thick compared with the originals, however, the method is workable.

Personally, I prefer to do an approximate trim with scissors first, then fine tune with a Dremel (or sandpaper).

Remember, they don’t have to be seamless. I’d just suggest using screen shots available to help you gauge the thickness and positioning. :-)

I'm finding this very difficult trying to form the ears to the helmet. about how thick do you want the ears on the helmet? Do i want the ear thicker on the front? I'm talking about the disc as well. The circle with the rank bars on it. Its a good thing I was sent 2 pairs

You are definitely on the right track, but the top of the round part should be lowered a bit to where it aligns with the ridge.  You may need to take a hair off the areas as seen in the second photo to lower them and move them forward a tad.   As I mentioned, don't worry too much about the gaps.

By the way, if you’re worried about the little gap above the ear, don’t be concerned. Many originals had that, to, as below.

That’s what I was mostly concerned about was the gap. I don’t have one on the right but I will on the left. Was that common with the left side? Or just in general. Is there a way to close that gap?

The gap is fine. Just like those reference photos I posted, many have a similar gap.

The other side looks quite high, however, it doesn’t look like you could have done much differently. The moulding of this make of helmet looks like you didn’t have much choice.

 

 

 

Honestly, what you’ve done seems to be okay for this helmet.

 

If in doubt, check some other builds of this maker and see how they positioned the ear caps.

I’m back! Starting again after many months with the arms now, got the first one all trimmed up. I know the strips for the arms and bicep are 15mm. I have skinny arms so I just have 7.5 flat joint on each side to make it look nice. It fits without being too tight. Any tips? Also I’m assuming you cover up the top alignment with the cover strip. Is the cover strip rounded or chamfered or just straight. Thank you!

Hi Thomas, some photos should be great to see in  detail , (be sure to wear your black inner shirt.),  how the biceps and forearms looks together . As you can see in the reference photo added, ther's certain proportion to keep 

 

 

 

 

And for the cover strips end, they're usually angled cut or sanded to smooth the corners .
