You may even be lucky to sand the texture down and there may be enough paint to either apply some polish or perhaps a matt/satin clear BUT I can understand the eagerness to get on to the armor Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 Looking great except for your little brow issue Ben Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted August 27, 2020 Author Report Posted August 27, 2020 Slowly getting there on my armor... More pics soon. My question for everybody is the black stripe on the side of the torso. How wide? Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 27, 2020 Report Posted August 27, 2020 There is no size in the CRL, I would suggest checking with references. 2 Quote
11b30b4[TK] Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 Black strip on the Jim kits is about 3/4" wide if I recall correctly. I will measure it and get some pics for you this week. 2 Quote
11b30b4[TK] Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 (edited) Actually, the black strip is more like 5/8" Edited September 18, 2020 by 11b30b4 1 Quote

TerribleBen[TK] Posted September 21, 2020 Author Report Posted September 21, 2020 My first fit.... 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 First of many Once you get your thighs on you will be able to see how the cod is sitting better and whether you will need bring upwards or trim Quote
11b30b4[TK] Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 looks good, try putting the criss-cross of the straps on the back rather than the front and see if it feels better. It did for me but may not be same for you. 1 Quote

TerribleBen[TK] Posted January 12, 2021 Author Report Posted January 12, 2021 My question is sniper knee and thigh ammo pack before or after paint. I already decided the front torso details will be painted before mounting. This forum is awesome and I have learned so much on this adventure. Thanks to all Ben Quote
Cobratrooper[TK] Posted January 13, 2021 Report Posted January 13, 2021 Before painting. Otherwise you may have problems with gluing. Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted January 15, 2021 Author Report Posted January 15, 2021 Hey thanks for the advise. The reason I asked is all the gaps around the pieces of armor and how the paint will look ....Not reaching into the gaps. Maybe white primer then the gloss. Not sure Quote

Not sure Personally, I painted all of my pieces separately, then assembled, to ensure good paint coverage in all of the gaps. I went back and scuffed up any non-visible contact surfaces before gluing though to help with the mechanical adhesion of the glue. Good luck! 1 Quote
