TerribleBen[TK] Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 So I received the kit. Not impressed. I will post a pic after I get r done. My first e11 build, we will see how it turns out. Quote
Junos Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 What makes you not impressed by it? Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 Looking forward to seeing some photos Quote
Rob .T .[TK] Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 Bit of a pointless post without photos or information . Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted February 9, 2020 Author Report Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) Here you go Rob, trigger housing came cracked and broken. Front of scope needed to be filled and sanded you can see the part I missed, main body comes in two pieces and doesn't line up well. I have built hundreds of models and mini's maybe my standards are too high. Cheers Edited February 19, 2020 by TerribleBen Quote
giskard8[Staff] Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 Kind of common with 3D printed stuff if the filling is set too low. I have built several 3D printed blasters and they all require a lot of surface treatment, sanding, more filling, more sanding and so on... (with one exception which is from a photo-hardening resin printer). You might want to consider insert something into the barrel, PVC pipe or metal tube to help line up and reinforce the body, otherwise it will crack always at the join when subject to stress (handling / trooping). I rebuilt mine like 2 to 3 times. Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted February 9, 2020 Author Report Posted February 9, 2020 Good to know. Thanks again Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 9, 2020 Report Posted February 9, 2020 Yes very common, even on the finest setting you can still end up with areas needed to be worked on, the print lines are still visible, a few coats of spray putty normally is enough to fill those, a little bondo for areas needing more filler. TerribleBen[TK] Posted February 16, 2020 Author Report Posted February 16, 2020 Here's some progress. I'm going to add D rings then weather and coat with semigloss urethane. I think it will pass the three foot test. Ben Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted February 20, 2020 Author Report Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) One D Ring. Not going to do the front one. Not having fun trying to post pics here. I get that I have to use an outside source. I guess I'm challenged Edited February 22, 2020 by TerribleBen Quote

Savvysawce[TK] Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Not bad! I'm looking at getting the same blaster ordered for an Iden build, and to give me something to do. I saw you stated it wasn't the best but now that it's finished, would you recommend it? I'm considering a few other printed kits as well. Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted June 16, 2020 Author Report Posted June 16, 2020 Kinda up to you. You will need hardware( roll pins and nuts and bolts) and hopefully the trigger housing is better on yours. For 50 bucks and free shipping. Not bad. Good luck Quote
