justjoseph63[Staff] Posted May 24, 2020 Report Posted May 24, 2020 Looking MUCH better, sir! I see two small issues that may come up, but these would depend on your GML. The gaps between your bicep/forearm could be evened out a bit, as the left is a bit lower than the right. Evening them out is a pretty easy fix and would give you a much better look. The other is the paint on the frown and top of the left ear bump. For some reason it looks to have bubbled a bit and is pretty rough. Overall, though, looking sharp! Nice job!! 1 Quote

Nice job!!Thank you for the feedback, paint bubbles or it’s the paint been applied to much there sadly I don’t have any more gray paint to fix issues like that. I noticed that in pictures as well after I was out of armour that my arms were at different lengths.Would also like an opinion on the helmet ear gaps if they are to much? I’m currently waiting for a new helmet but going to be using this one till it arrives Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Nada[TK] Posted May 25, 2020 Author Report Posted May 25, 2020 As Chemi mentioned, those ear gaps look fine. Why are you replacing the helmet?I didn’t think I could get basic requirements with my helmet also some issues with my helmet that aren’t easily seen. My GML & CO says the ear gaps were to big and have been working on them to get them to approval stuffing them up during the process. Also I am trying to hit EIB after my approval, I don’t believe I can get my helmet to that level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Nada[TK] Posted May 28, 2020 Author Report Posted May 28, 2020 Thank you for the advice on the helmet. I honestly don’t know if I can get the same paint in time before my helmet comes due to COVIDAlso thought I should add some pictures of my blaster for some inspection. Think I’ve got to replace my decals for sureSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
shadan[TK] Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 Super easy to fix those teeth. Get some Humbrol Thinners and an earbud (qtip / cotton swab) and using a small amount gently rub against the paint. It will soon all come off cleanly allowing you to repaint the teeth. 1 Quote

Really surprised that the thinner and admiralty grey are that popular always one is sold out. Should be able to do the paint again when it arrives Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
shadan[TK] Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 (edited) Excellent. I would totally recommend removing all the teeth paint and starting afresh. I did it myself a while back and it turned out quite nicely. Despite someone above saying the ear gaps are fine we felt that they were quite excessive, especially noting we could see the plate joins behind them. Potentially some careful screw tightening could help decrease this gap (and no says it has to be flush!) but it may not work. Didn’t you have a completed helmet on the way that you were waiting on before submitting again? Edited June 2, 2020 by shadan Quote

If I can get into basic with my helmet now then go for EIB later on with the new one. Helmet should arrive in 1-2 months but I will be going back to college in less then a month. gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted June 3, 2020 Report Posted June 3, 2020 I'm sure you can still save those ears with a little bit of tweaking and sanding, here are a couple of great threads: I'm sure you can do this, good luck Quote

Mworm1974[TK] Posted June 13, 2020 Report Posted June 13, 2020 Sometimes it helps to step cut the top of the ear as the face-cap/back overlap hinders the ear placement. If you do get new ears leave more meat on the front and take little off the back then little off the front that way you don’t take too much off. I didn’t drill or mount my ears until I got them in the right spot but it took 2 sets to get it right. If you were in Sydney or close to Sydney we could have had this settled ages ago, don’t give up you are almost there. 1 Quote
