Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI got told have a good gap between them. How big does the gap have to be for basic approval?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
husky68[TK] Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 Nothing specific in the CRL, I’d consider a few centurion examples and cut small increments until you are happy. Check occasionally with your GML. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 "Aiming it to have a 1-2 cm gap between the thigh and sniper knee like I’ve seen in photos" Do you mean a gap between the top of the sniper knee and the bottom of the thigh? For taller troopers having that gap may be a necessity, but it is definitely not a requirement at any level. There are a few troopers in ANH that have that gap, but on the vast majority the sniper knee rides OVER the bottom of the thigh. Quote

Put some sponge/foam to make the sniper knee poke out more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Nada[TK] Posted January 15, 2020 Author Report Posted January 15, 2020 You nailed it. Looks GREAT! Thank you! Just got to work on my back strapping to make it more aligned an tight. Along with resizing my biceps and I should be good for pre approval before next sending the pictures off for my approval as well as work on keeping that back S-trim on stay there in my photos (has never fallen out)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted January 18, 2020 Author Report Posted January 18, 2020 Did restrapping for back and front today to make the gaps smaller and sit better for all pieces. Waiting on new glue to change butt plate strap locations to stop sag and gap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 If you haven't added the snaps to hold the belt in place yet, I would suggest raising it a bit in the front, which will give it a more horizontal look from the side(s). The top of the ABS belt should sit just at (or a little above) the lower button. One thing I noticed is that your chest plate is developing a crack on the return edge. I would jump on this right away by shimming it with a scrap of ABS in the rear, as it will only get worse and will eventually extend into the plate itself. This thread may help with more info. Quote

Thank you for pointing that out after looking at my chest price there was a ton of stress cracks starting so I have trimmed off the return edges. I was wondering does this include the bottom return edge?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Nada[TK] Posted January 19, 2020 Author Report Posted January 19, 2020 Redid the strapping in my butt plate and have resized my bicep piecesSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Nada[TK] Posted January 19, 2020 Author Report Posted January 19, 2020 Tomorrow I will be doing my pre approval photos, then off feedback there will do my next approval photos or submit them photos if good enough I believe I have fixed a lot of issues with my armour but if you have any more issues to suggestions they are much appreciated!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 Great work Nada, we look forward to seeing your pre approval shots. You got this.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 NICE job on trimming those return edges, sir! I hate to be a stickler (can't help it, lol) but you may want to take some sandpaper to the top portion (blue line). There is also one tiny indentation (red arrow) toward the upper part where this is especially important. Even a tiny nick like this can lead to a split, but it's easily fixed. Looking forward to seeing your pre-submission photos! 3 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted January 19, 2020 Author Report Posted January 19, 2020 My pre-approval post has been posted please have a look if you can and feedback would be much appreciated!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Nada[TK] Posted January 20, 2020 Author Report Posted January 20, 2020 Update my S-Trim because of the gap on the back seen in a lot of my photos to this.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Nada[TK] Posted January 31, 2020 Author Report Posted January 31, 2020 Think this will be an issue if not fixed. I’m a large trooper so my kidney plate has bended to my waist and left my butt plate smaller then it letting it clip into it.Can be seen in these two photos:How it looks like when spread out on a table:Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Nada[TK] Posted February 1, 2020 Author Report Posted February 1, 2020 Just fixed it! No needing to bend it just had to remove the return edge so it could come up more:Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Perfect, well done Nada.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Nada[TK] Posted February 7, 2020 Author Report Posted February 7, 2020 Here we go got my feedback from my approval photos. Main Issues are my shins are to loose/big at my ankles, S-trim has to be one piece, my ear gaps are to big on helmet( can see through one of them), my butt plate was to loose not snug enough, my kidney plate was flaring out and the gap between my ab and kidney is to big.I’m going to be getting help with my ears and tapering the shins from a SCG member Buckets.I have ordered a new S-trim from my kits manufacturer. And I have reworked the strapping and made shims to my armour which you can see in the following pictures still working on the shim strapping was to loose.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 7, 2020 Report Posted February 7, 2020 With the S trim just make sure you cut it longer, you can push it while attaching it and it will compress and hold itself in place nicely. Good luck with the modifications, almost there 1 Quote
TKSpartan[Staff] Posted February 7, 2020 Report Posted February 7, 2020 Great Attitude mate!! . just few adjustment but all of them for good. I'm sure you're going to look great . . There's no way back, almost there Trooper !! 1 Quote
