Nada[TK] Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 Update: been slowly working on fixes have ran out of snaps so strapping for now is hard to do but still working on it. New S-trim came today and have installed it still have to work on the ears and shins but have decided to add EIB details to my armour and will be adding all the rivets snaps on the ab kidney plate and butt plate. Nada[TK] Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 New strapping not sure I can get it any better l. Don’t know really how to get the sides to not flare out due to my waist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Really could do with a little heat, because the extra pieces you have added are flat and not curved they will stick out. 1 Quote
Tarragon[TK] Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 You could possibly remove the additional pieces, and replace them with longer side pieces that under lap both the kidney plate & the abdomen plate. Make the side pieces long enough, so that the abdomen plate overlaps the side pieces by 2-3” both sides.Glue the longer additional pieces to the kidney plate.Bend a curve in the longer side pieces so that they wrap around you torso. Then the abdomen plate sits over the side pieces. 3 Quote
husky68[TK] Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Many others make a opening and an insert on the sides, usually the right side, that keeps ab and kidney aligned. My own design just adds some hooks to make it lock in place. Although I would not want too much stress on these abs pieces as they are only glued on. Hot water bath it improve the curve and alignment first would help reduce stress and make it last longer. Edited February 14, 2020 by husky68 1 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted February 15, 2020 Author Report Posted February 15, 2020 I have managed to get it to look like this by tucking in the tops of the shims under the ab plate. Does this look good?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
husky68[TK] Posted February 15, 2020 Report Posted February 15, 2020 We build armor to look best but remember that if you plan to troop it needs to be very functional. Tucking in might not be a working solution. Although whatever works for you and can be approved for basic is fine too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI understand that I’m trying to lose weight atm to get rid of this shim but for the moment it looks like that or like this It makes a huge difference to how it looks and I can walk in it fine it doesn’t pop out easily Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted February 16, 2020 Author Report Posted February 16, 2020 Did a full armour put on with the shims this is how it looks. Strapping on one side of my chest plate needs to be replaced what is making one side go up more then the other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 21, 2020 Report Posted February 21, 2020 You may want to remove a little paint from around the teeth area Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. 1 Quote

Consider that original ANH Helmets were not perfect and they had some ear gaps too as you can see in the following reference pics. You can try too reduce the gap as much as possible . The following links may help https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47872-ear-troubles/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27375-howto-draw-an-approximate-ear-trim-line-with-no-gaps/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29238-my-helmet-ear-tutorial/ Hope this help. Nada[TK] Posted February 24, 2020 Author Report Posted February 24, 2020 Work for today more work on my helmet and reconstructing shins to be put together properly (had them built wrong) and will be resizing them.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tarragon[TK] Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 Make sure you are wearing your boots when sizing the shins. Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 Sometimes re-building is a part of the process, Nadas. Is it a pain in the a$$ posterior plate? Yes, but you are doing a fantastic job! Looks like the front of your shins are going to come out looking spectacular, sir! Quote

Nada[TK] Posted February 24, 2020 Author Report Posted February 24, 2020 So after today I will have to resize and cut the shins so they fit well around my ankles and shin, work on my helmet more if needed, clean up ab buttons and test my new shoulder strap locations so they sit more in the middle of the back armour.I feel like so far I have fixed most of the issues that were present in my last approval photos and other suggestions from the last. I will be trying to do another pre-approval photo take after I have fixed my strapping. Any more suggestions to improve are always welcomeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
