Nada[TK] Posted December 17, 2019 Report Posted December 17, 2019 Hey from the Australia aswell as the SCG forums finally decided to start a build thread on here even tho I have nearly finished my AM armour. Here are some of my photos I sent for my approval (Basic/level 1) These are the main issues brought up by my GML for what needs to be fixed before I can be approved. My belt still has some pencil lines on it that are having a hard time to come out of the belt.As well as my thighs resting on my shins because they are to tall on me. I didn’t have my armour align correctly when taking photos as well as biceps cover strips need more trimming Shoulder Straps one was back wards this has been fixed Helmet has a lot of the issues. My brow is to short for my helmet and needs to be extended to the traps. My helmet screws are to off white/cream (getting new paint for them tomorrow) And my teeth area which I have been working on today to go from this To this Any help or suggestions for my armour is much appreciated. Hi Trooper, You have done a great work fixing your armor!. For your thighs to go up I would suggest to trim a little the upper section of each one so you can adjust to have a better fit. Good luck with your application and hope to see your TK ID soon. Cheers Quote

Cheers Thank you have decided to to do 10mm off the thighs and 5mm off the shins for a better fit and make the gap between sniper knee and thigh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted December 19, 2019 Author Report Posted December 19, 2019 Did some improvements this morning getting closer and closer to completion for my next approval photos have managed to get my sniper knee from what it looked like in my first photos to this by cutting 10 mm off my thighAs well as get rid of the cream off white colour screws to this nice whiteAs well as some cleaning up of cover strips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
husky68[TK] Posted December 19, 2019 Report Posted December 19, 2019 You can clean up the top of the biceps by removing the return edge, also the smaller they are the easier it is to close gap between bell and chest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Coastertk Posted December 19, 2019 Report Posted December 19, 2019 Drop box alignment is what stand out to me. Shift the drop box elastic outward until the outside of the boxes are aligned with the edge of the plastic belt, then pull them up until they basically touch the bottom of the plastic belt. Glue the elastic in place to the canvas belt and they will never shift out of place. 1 Quote
Nada[TK] Posted December 20, 2019 Author Report Posted December 20, 2019 So did a test fit today and walk today in the armour After the 10mm cut on the thighs my shins and thighs are now like thisSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
troopermaster Posted December 20, 2019 Report Posted December 20, 2019 Just so you know, the shins are not assembled correctly. You have put both outer halves together and both inner halves together. It doesn't really any difference but they are not assembled as intended. Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted December 20, 2019 Report Posted December 20, 2019 Things are looking much better, sir! Although it won't affect basic 501st approval, 2 simple items would be to cut down the sides of the posterior plate. It looks as if those sharp points could poke into you or snag your under suit. The other is the one Jay mentioned about the drop boxes. Both easy fixes! Quote

You have the inner left as your outer right but the inner right is the correct part. Your left shin is made up of the outer right and outer left. Quote

Eventually you may want to trim down the return edge(s) under your thigh bottoms, Nadas, which will give you a bit more room, Also, at some point before you submit for Centurion level you will need to either fill in the gaps with ABS paste, or glue a piece of white ABS behind them (easier). Keep up the great work! Reference images Quote

Nada[TK] Posted December 27, 2019 Author Report Posted December 27, 2019 UPDATE submitted my second approval haven’t heard anything back but have found issues with my armour since then so will be redoing them. I have my strapping system in the wrong positions(front straps were on the back vice versa) I have also started to add sponge to stop my biceps and forearms rotating so much also fixed the strapping on my butt plate so it doesn’t poke upSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 A little foam can make a lot of difference, good luck with approval Quote

May want to have a look at the drop boxes too, they should align with the end of the plastic belt section and just a few mm's gap between them and the belt Quote
