Krisko720 Posted October 26, 2019 Report Posted October 26, 2019 (edited) Hey guys! As I stated in my introductory post, I’m new here from Arvada, Colorado. I’m a long time Star Wars fan and have always wanted it to play a bigger part in my life. Now that I’m older and financially able to throw around some money on big boy toys, I’ve decided to make one of those toys a full on armor kit. Looking to build a Centurion Level TLJ FOTK Officer. The image below is what made me choose this character (I’m aware the image is from TFA). I did however jump the gun (before reading all the posts) and ordered armor directly from Anovos. I have since read the posts and I understand the possible sticky position I’ve gotten myself into but I’m also prepared to give another armory an order and sell this one if Anovos takes too long delivering. After a bit of recent research and digging through other builds, I’ve started to collect a few things. Keep in mind I usually go all out when I decide to do some sort of project. So yes, some things might not be necessary, but hey, why not? Helmet: Anovos Lined Standard from private seller on eBay (Received)Hearing/Speaking System: Ukswrath (Received) Trooper Chatter: Ukswrath (Received)Cloth Pouches: Trooperbay (Received)Helmet Electronics: Ukswrath’s 4 fan cooling system with bracket (Received) Comm System: Micom Sound Rig (Received) Phillips Everplay Speaker (Received) Gloves: Endorfinders (Received)Undersuit: StormtrooperUndersuit (Received) Pauldron: MTK Armory (Received) Balaclava: UA Heat Gear Tactical (Received) Boots: Gio’s (Received) Belt: Belts of the First Order (Received) TLJ Armor: KB Props Armor Kit (Shipped) Riot Shield: 850 Armor Works (Shipped) Riot Baton: Amazon (Hasbro) (Shipped) SE-44C Pistol Kit: 3-D Props (Ordered) F11-D Blaster Kit w/ BlastFX: 3-D Props (Ordered) Holster: R2Dan (Ordered) Gaskets: Geeky Pink (Ordered) Neck Seal: Geeky Pink (Ordered) Harness: Geeky Pink (Ordered) A few of the items I have yet to order. Still looking into what to get and what items are the best looking and best quality for the money but most importantly, what will allow Centurion Level approval. Please provide any comments or advice to help me along, I’ll definitely need it once assembly starts. Looking forward to this journey with you guys and I will be sure to post pics as things happen! gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 26, 2019 Report Posted October 26, 2019 Off to a great start, looking forward to seeing your progress, good luck 1 Quote
JAFO[TK] Posted October 26, 2019 Report Posted October 26, 2019 Great work Chris! Good to see you underway. A few thoughts... If you're speaking with Teresa regarding gaskets chat to her about a neck seal and harness too. Did you check to see if Trooperbay still sold the cloth pouches? If not I'd recommend Jim Lau out of Hong Kong. TBH there are no 100% screen accurate pouches out there right now but all are good quality. The Trooperbay pauldron is a nice piece but a little undersized. You will want to upgrade it and it is easy to do. I'll share some pics with you. KB Props has recently created an abs pauldron that is much better sized/shaped. In regards to blasters, etc there are many great vendors out there but it will come down to $s. Eelco at 3DPropsNL does AMAZING work and he is using a new filament that requires hardly any touch up work. I can highly recommend. Shout out if you have any more questions. 1 Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Report Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) The 3D Props guy has some amazing stuff! So cool what you can do with printers these days. Especially now that metal 3d printers are a thing. So I’m leaning towards his pistol and rifle. The pistol kit is $138 (not including shipping). Before I order the rifle, is it worth adding on the LEDs and Blast FX kits he offers with the rifle? The blaster alone is $221 Blaster plus LEDs $254 Blaster plus LEDs and BlastFX is $421 In regards to the pistol, how does it connect to the leg holster? I see some have a metal plate with two pins. Is this a separate piece I need to get from somewhere? Edited October 27, 2019 by Krisko720 Quote
JAFO[TK] Posted October 27, 2019 Report Posted October 27, 2019 For the blasters lights and sounds are very much a personal choice. I can live without the sound but the lights make a big difference. From under the bucket you can often hear people’s excitement when you power up. The pistol uses two anti tamper pan heads to slot in to the holster. T25s from memory but I’ll check. gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 27, 2019 Report Posted October 27, 2019 Nothing better than lights and sound the public love it, locally we add an amp jack to the blaster so you can run a cable up your arm and to the amp, we can be heard in a busy convention There are many options, some go the full hog and purchase expensive kits but as you have shown they can be very expensive, many of us take the cheaper route, find a children's toy gun which sounds similar, gut it and modify to fit. Adding a few lights to an on/off switch or direct to the trigger is not that hard, perhaps have a chat to members in your local garrison, there's usually a few that have great electronics experience. 1 Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 28, 2019 Author Report Posted October 28, 2019 So, I took JAFO’s suggestion and checked out 3-D Props. Comparing his stuff to everyone else’s it seems he has some great pieces, good reviews, and was quick to respond to my questions. I went with both pistol and rifle kits. The rifle I ordered along with the BlastFX kit and the M300 light. Everything with shipping came up to $676.08 So expect lots of questions once it arrives In other news, my bucket arrives today! I’m eagerly checking shipping updates as we have like 4” of snow outside this morning here near Denver, Colorado.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 28, 2019 Author Report Posted October 28, 2019 So these just came in today (Monday).. I ordered them Saturday. These guys at Endorfinders don’t play around with shipping! I measured my hands as stated on their website and they fit.. well, like a glove lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Krisko720 Posted October 28, 2019 Author Report Posted October 28, 2019 Not sure if other makers have the same internal liners, but these things are lined with what seems to be baby kitten fur.. they’re really comfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Imperial boots does not have liners but I use soft cotton liners and swap them out in-between troops, saves them getting too sweaty. Just watch getting them too wet I know my first IB gloves bled quite a lot, not sure how endorfinders are 1 Quote

Krisko720 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Report Posted October 30, 2019 I got my 4 fan setup from UKswrath.. looks great! I love the details he added to the bracket. Too bad FedEx is playing games with my helmet. Delivery was supposed to be Monday. Then 8pm came and it changed to Pending and saw it arrived back at the facility. Then expected Tuesday. Same thing, changed to pending but stayed on the truck I assume because it never arrived back at the facility (even after a CSR said it was to be delivered). Today, after I called again, the CSR said they would open a report and someone would call. After the call, the notification again says ‘out for delivery’. Edit: Just received a call from the local FedEx office, says he doesn’t know why the driver has had it for 3 days but he’s going to call and get it resolved. I swear FedEx’s delivery notification system is seriously flawed. I’m under the impression from what I’ve read that regular ground shipments get tossed aside in lieu of priority packages. I mean, it’s a huge ANOVOS helmet box, you think they’d want it off the truck.. so we’ll see if the bucket arrives today so I can install the fans and run around the house with my helmet and gloves on, lol Anyway, in other news, supposed to meet up with a couple of local Mountain Garrison members soon to help do work on his armor so I can learn some things. I’m really digging the community vibe among the members here. You guys have been a lot of help already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Report Posted October 30, 2019 And... he finally arrives! Now to get home during lunch and check out the new bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
JAFO[TK] Posted October 30, 2019 Report Posted October 30, 2019 It’s actually a surprisingly small bc snd light box. I bought from the same vendor and when it arrived here in Australia I was surprised by the new Anovos packaging.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote

JAFO[TK] Posted October 30, 2019 Report Posted October 30, 2019 Amazing to think there are people who have been waiting since September 2027 and still don’t have this product. Yet they are readily available on eBay and delivered within days. Glad you like it Chris!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Report Posted October 30, 2019 Yeah it was $300 shipped and the guy had like 14 of these.. at least I have something to play around with. It’s crazy how messed up the orders and logistics have been for everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

It is becoming increasingly evident that Anovos is continuing to fund their activities through back door means.Anyway...let’s not talk Anovos, this is your build thread and it gets more exciting by the day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote
Krisko720 Posted October 30, 2019 Author Report Posted October 30, 2019 Yup! I’ve got a few things to keep me occupied until the blasters arrive in maybe January. Still need to order my stuff through Geeky Pink. She hasn’t replied since I messaged her, I’m guessing she’s pretty busy. I finally found her page concerning her items. Aside from that I’m looking at the pouches at Trooperbay. Waiting to hear back from Dan to see if I can get on the metal holster run. I think it’s full and everyone has paid up. What else can I do? I suppose I can get paint and supplies for the blasters.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Krisko720 Posted November 1, 2019 Author Report Posted November 1, 2019 So I’m having trouble tracking down which pauldron style the FOTK uses. I’ve checked some other discussions when I search but a lot of the threads are gone. I see the regular one, like the basic black vacuum formed one that has what looks like vinyl on it. And then there’s the sweet looking leather style that’s plush and stitched. Which is it? The CRL and even the toys I’m seeing looks to be the basic one.. Sent from my iPhone using The Force Quote
JAFO[TK] Posted November 1, 2019 Report Posted November 1, 2019 The style you want is the bottom red one. Also seen in white or black to denote different ranks.Anovos Pauldrons are hard to find or yet to be delivered - no surprises there!!!Reach out to KB Props. He recently created a good sized abs version which, after a few tweaks, has gone up really well. Around $65 I think.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote
