I wasn’t aware there was a difference in the screen used riot batons.

Hmm.. then maybe the CRL needs to be amended? It states it needs 5 bands. The Hasbro has 4.

And here’s the thread I mentioned:

Both CRLs are being addressed. The TFA is essentially finished, the TLJ is next to be updated.

Well then.. guess I’ll just get to work on my ramen noodle shield parts and disregard my concern!

I went ahead and ordered the epoxy. I feel it needs a little something more than filler primer for strength.

For strength you could use either a fibreglass mix, comes the same as auto filler, 2 part and is a little stronger, or use some JB weld, it is sandable but does take a little longer to dry.

Auto filler will adhere to plastic so you may be ok, just don't go bending bits afterwards ;)

Shame the poor quality of the print but I'm sure you'll be able to save it :D

AWESOME, now we need the obligatory lay it all out on the floor photo.

I know what you will be doing this weekend ;)

I’m guessing this goes here? I don’t think I’ve seen this separate before.

Looks like they got some nice pulls on the parts from what my untrained eyes can see. I am definitely glad I got Dans holster and other parts from him. And it was nice that they threw in some extra ABS.

My magnets came today as well. Went ahead and ordered a bunch as suggested in the Magnets 101 thread.

Should be getting my MP40 ammo pouch for the shoulder today. Waiting on my blasters from 3D Props (still no reply to my email asking for an ETA). And lastly just need Dan’s items and my gaskets from Geeky Pink.

Again, this is my first build so if anyone sees anything missing or something that needs attention, feel free to let me know. I’m open to any and all advice.

The chest vent pull is soft. You can cut it out and replace with the supplied insert. This happened with the original Anovos marketing kits.

Oh yeah.. I saw this on ukswrath’s thread. The look on his face is exactly how I feel about cutting a giant hole in the front of my beautiful new armor. #notexcited 91d87e306c7aef5cd88fd15fef22e3d2.jpg&key=e4c4b7a3a61e50b3642a9d0d99029b018633060627142109d09ed4d79e118370

More pics! Just got my MP40 ammo shoulder pouch from Imperial Boots. All I can say is wow I’m glad I ordered this one. It’s super legit. Thick quality leather and stitching.

Reading over some threads about the TD..

Seems the only modification I need to make is

the secondary edge inside the inner end?

So is the small white inner ring the raised part? I’m guessing I can just create a small ring out of some abs and secure inside.

So I dug through ukswrath’s thread and found the recessed end cap. Not sure why this little detail was left out of the mold. But hey, I’ll take it. Better than having to build the whole TD from ABS!

Just going to cut out a ring from my spare sheets. I’ll have to take a guess at the size unless someone has a measurement.

Had a little free time tonight to clean up my TD. I’m not certain I have enough room to add an ABS ring inside. About to ‘try’ and freehand a ring with my dremel. This is definitely where it would be nice to have a 3D printer or 2 axis table of some kind.

Is there a certain length, depth, and width to the thin black indention on top of the TD.

Made a quick little (not so round) piece of ABS to see how it looks inside. Found out the DT inner diameter is the same exact size as a WD40 can. Used my gfs hard seltzer to make the inner dimension.

This too shallow you think?

So after seeing Bishop’s TD ring, I’ll be changing the inner diameter of my test ring.

But for now, I had the day off and got some rough trimming done. (I’m starting to enjoy the smell of hot ABS.) I have to leave this afternoon to catch a flight back to Texas for the weekend for an early Christmas with my family, but I’ll be back at it next week. I’ve set aside some time over this next weekend to get some more trimming work done.

Also, decided to snap a shot of the framing job I had done on the Baby Yoda print I got for my gf for Christmas. We’re big fans of The Mandalorian and she absolutely loves the little green kid. (As do I.)

Until then, Merry Christmas troopers.

Small update until I can hit the garage for some armor trimming time..

Got a little gift from my gf, my weapon collection is slowly growing! Will go great with the shield once it’s done. Such a cool piece for being a shelf ready toy.

So the Dremel and I have been really good friends the last couple of nights. The gf had to work a late shift so that left me some time in the garage to get some work done.

Got almost everything trimmed up. Just need to do the box of small stuff this weekend.

It’s a little nerve racking to start cutting into some of these pieces, but with a little patience and taking the ABS off a little at a time, each one starts to take shape.

It’s strangely satisfying.. which is dangerous. This is only my first build but I can see why so many have multiple sets of armor!

Here’s a shot for now, should have the rest done and maybe some test fitting of some pieces on Monday.

Got a little more trimming done tonight. What I thought was a small box of small stuff (mainly belt and ab boxes) ended up being a LOT of trimming. All those extra corners really add up!

Worked on the forearms for quite a bit and even though it’s rough, it felt pretty darn good to slide on a piece of the armor for the first time.

8a3e48276eaa5007525f9a2f34c11519.jpg&key=e07972b6bd2fa65dad341276d3e57cb831778e589bd1ec3ffc3b27ddd5a03224

I have all day Monday to myself. I plan on lots of clean up work on all the edges from today and then maybe try to dry fit some things to see how everything lines up.

I’ll try to post up some detail pictures as I get things done.

As a side note, I have had a few Dremels over the years, my latest being a 3000. But I happened to pick up a Stylo+ over the holidays.. man what a handy tool! I have to use the 3000 for the cutting and rough trimming, but the small and super light Stylo+ is amazing for detail work. A highly suggested piece to add to your arsenal and under $50!
