TheSwede[TK] Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 Hi Derek great to see you going for a second EIB award We need you to do some work before that can happen though, as per CRL the armor is lightly scuffed (battle worn) but not weathered like a Sandtrooper. Your is currently to heavily weathered and we need you to tone it down. Look at the CRL model and the recently approved HWT applications to see what to aim for. Newspapers soaked in water and then rubbed over the armor can have a nice effect. I also like to have a close up of the ab button paint so I can take a better look. The armor itself is looking good so it should be smooth sailing ones you "cleaned up" 1 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 23, 2019 Author Report Posted October 23, 2019 So would you need new full body shots with armor being worn or new reshoots of each individual piece to show it being lightened up? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 I am in agreement with Daniel, Derek. SUPER nice job on that build, brother, but when it comes to weathering HWTs sometimes less is more. Looking forward to seeing another HWT in the higher ranks soon, especially a fellow AM owner! Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted October 23, 2019 Report Posted October 23, 2019 Looking good Derek, just a little work and you're there. 1 Quote

TheSwede[TK] Posted October 31, 2019 Report Posted October 31, 2019 Hi again Derek and thank you for your Second EIB application. In this review I will ensure that your armor follows the requirements set out in the CRL L2 Expert Infantry Badge and also point out what I can to prepare you for Centurion, should you choose to apply. I hope you do! Let´s get started shall we! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for HWT Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions As we navigate through this review we are going to start from the top and work our way down. We only have one thing to mention here and, if possible, that is to curve the posterior plate so it goes under your body more not showing the snaps. That´s it! Again congratulations and your second EIB Award! and very well done Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application. We only have one thing to mention here as well and as seen the shoulder pocuh should be lower and more straight. Joseph @justjoseph63 is our HWT expert so he will add a suggestion on how you can mount it more properly after this review. We expect your centurion application momentarily Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted October 31, 2019 Report Posted October 31, 2019 Hi Derek, and congrats on your achievement.. ALWAYS great to see another HWT in the ranks! As Daniel mentioned, I have a suggestion that will work to lower that ammo pack. I see that it is attached with snaps directly to your pauldron, which is causing it to ride high. I suggest adding a small loop of black nylon with 2 snaps (important) as seen below to the left strap of your pack. No need for sewing.. CA (super) glue should hold it just fine. Doing this will both bring it down and straighten it out at the same time. You can attach the nylon loop through either the upper of lower straps in the back of the ammo pack, Also, doing this will make it easier to look to your left, as presently it looks like the pack may be hindering that. Daniel and I have discussed the fact that the snaps on your pauldron will be exposed, but both agree that it will not hold you up from reaching Centurion. We do suggest that you paint them black so they don't stand out as much. P.S. If you see Gary sr., Gary jr. or Randy around please give em' my best! Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 31, 2019 Author Report Posted October 31, 2019 I actually do have plenty or left/right movement in my helmet when fully suited up the way it sits. They are actually rivets that hold the pouch to the Pauldron. So holes would just be left if I cut them out. But if that’s what I need to grab that Centurion, I’ll try and get that hammered out soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted October 31, 2019 Report Posted October 31, 2019 I would leave the metal parts of the rivets attached to the pauldron and just paint them black. Easy fix! 2 Quote
