On the sides, I actually pushed it down a little as I didn't want the corners to show. I also pushed it down a little more a the center to give it more of the angry hero look Edited March 5, 2020 by LEGOeatPokemon Quote

LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 6, 2020 Author Report Posted March 6, 2020 Painting time! I have started with colouring all black things: Ears and TD screws Cheeks: Right head: Left head: I also extended the vocoder a bit, will go back with toothpick later: How does it look? 2 Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted March 6, 2020 Report Posted March 6, 2020 Good start to the painting, Trooper. :-) 1 Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 7, 2020 Author Report Posted March 7, 2020 Fixed the corners today, had to use a little more paint so no grey today. Grey will likely be tomorrow 2 Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 8, 2020 Author Report Posted March 8, 2020 Grey today! Will probably go back for the corners again with black. Two steps forward, one step back. See you tomorrow! 3 Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 9, 2020 Author Report Posted March 9, 2020 Corners and stripes today! It became a bit rough some places but I'm fairly proud of it. Does it look OK or should I go back some more? Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 9, 2020 Author Report Posted March 9, 2020 They are not TOO crooked, I hope... Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 10, 2020 Author Report Posted March 10, 2020 Tube stripes! About one pencil width away: I also fixed with some gray on the left cheek: I guess I'm pretty done with all the helmet painting then! I'm almost at the finish goal! 3 Quote

LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 OK, so I also had a bit of white to paint: Screws on ears: Rivets on thigh ammo pack: And rivets on thigh ammo pack: Now a question: The hovi mic tips from SDS have white inside but not on the most upper rim, should I paint that? Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 12, 2020 Author Report Posted March 12, 2020 Bump for the question on the mic. Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 12, 2020 Report Posted March 12, 2020 The rims don't have to be solid white, but some paint will be required. 1 Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 12, 2020 Author Report Posted March 12, 2020 Mics painted: NOW I guess I'm done with painting the helmet! Full helmet: Next up, installing frown mesh and visor. Is E6000 a good tool for that? 2 Quote
husky68[TK] Posted March 13, 2020 Report Posted March 13, 2020 I put my mesh in with E6000, just on sides and let the middle hang free. Never had an issue with it but even months later notice it is still a little sticky. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted March 13, 2020 Report Posted March 13, 2020 I would use a balaclava that goes up to the upper lip and skip the mesh, helps a ton with airflow. Also, don’t forget to fix the brow. 1 Quote
LEGOeatPokemon[TK] Posted March 13, 2020 Author Report Posted March 13, 2020 Also, don’t forgot to fix the brow. I think I did that, otherwise please point out where I should push or pull Skickat från min H60-L04 via Tapatalk Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted March 13, 2020 Report Posted March 13, 2020 The Hero brows generally sit a bit lower than the Stunt, so it doesn't have to be a lot. 1 Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted March 13, 2020 Report Posted March 13, 2020 Not trying to throw a spanner in the works, but, don’t forget that there are two things that affect how the brow sits. 1: how the actual brow (part of the back&cap) is cut2: how the face plate is mounted. Before I carry on, don’t think I’m saying that you should make changes - this is just information that you might choose to look at. :-) Although the angles are not exactly the same, the below compares brows with Han’s hero helmet. As below, the blue line shows how the moulded line on the back & cap usually* runs parallel above the eye sockets. Red line indicates the eye socket portion. *each helmet was hand made and slightly different; however, this is common across many, many helmets in ANH. Here’s another hero helmet as an example; The blue line shows how many brows had a slight lift at the brow compared with the imaginary green line. In this example with Jonas’ helmet, the actual brow (part of the back & cap) appears to dip down on the right hand side (left hand side does not). If you have photos from a few feet back (perhaps 5 or 6 feet) like the below, we can advise a little more on the brow. Best wishesDan 1 Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted March 13, 2020 Report Posted March 13, 2020 Thanks. I’ll be honest - I’m struggling to work out what going on. Might just be the shape of the molds. The right eye is quite a bit lower that the left, yet the cheeks/tubes seem to follow from front to back (suggesting that that’s where they’re supposed to sit). (?) Honestly, I’d say if you’re happy with the overall look, just leave it as is. If you’re up for a challenge, you could take the two parts apart and experiment with the faceplate/back and cap alignment. :-) 1 Quote
