The Hovi tips originally had white rims, but I painted them black as per a forum post that I can no longer find... I understand they are supposed to be painted white, but I was going to see if I could leave them black as seen in many online studio shots of helmets, such as what Han Solo wore on the Death Star. Helotech[TK] Posted August 21, 2019 Author Report Posted August 21, 2019 You're right. Waiting is tough. Totally understand the manpower issues. 2 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 21, 2019 Report Posted August 21, 2019 While you wait there are a couple of tweaks you could make, there's that eagle eye thing You could trim your smaller ab plate a little You could tighten the back strapping between your butt plate and kidney, there is a small gap there Also when kitting up watch the closure alignment on the tops of the calves You may also want to close up the gaps on the sides of your ab/kidney, I find doubled over elastic allows a bit of give and movement compared to nylon, but it's a personal choice You could also trim off some of the excess belt Mate you have a solid build and its' a credit to you, great work getting that SDS to this stage, good luck. Helotech[TK] Posted August 21, 2019 Author Report Posted August 21, 2019 Thanks for the tips and words of encouragement. I'll work on the points now. I originally had elastic on the sides, but switched it to nylon. As I lose weight that gap has closed a bit. I am at about 1/4" ish on each side depending how I stand. I didn't want to start shimming for that small gap. Wait to you see what I've been working on for about 3 days. ….. 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 Just remember those are only suggestions not requirements I bet I know what you've been working on 1 Quote

It must be the pics. They are lined up perfectly to the edges. Must be just how they hang in the photos. 1 Quote
Helotech[TK] Posted August 26, 2019 Author Report Posted August 26, 2019 Thanks. Due to my first troop and weekend away in Toronto I wasn’t able to look at any of the minor adjustments Q suggested. Just curious, but I haven’t heard from the EI approval staff. Totally understand they are short staffed, but any idea if I should ping someone? I’m looking at another troop in a couple weeks. thanks everyone. Quote

Helotech[TK] Posted August 26, 2019 Author Report Posted August 26, 2019 No worries. As you can imagine I’m just excited and anxious. I’m working towards Centurion and want to know if there is anything I need to do or tear apart. I’m planning on trooping at some events early Sept and don’t want to take things apart and miss those. Cheers! 1 Quote
Digz Graavz[TK] Posted August 27, 2019 Report Posted August 27, 2019 Best of luck Dave. Look forward to trooping with you When we get together I'll show you what I did to keep my side gaps tighter (in addition to dropping the weight I has put on LOL) Quote
Helotech[TK] Posted August 27, 2019 Author Report Posted August 27, 2019 Sounds great, and thanks! Look forward to seeing your fix. Where do you normally troop? Quote

msouza[TK] Posted September 8, 2019 Report Posted September 8, 2019 Dave, The only thing standing between you and EIB is your under suit. Per the CRL for basic approval UNDER SUIT Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos. There happens to be a great thread on this subject that can be found here. Once you get this removed please re post new photo of it. I wont make you get suited up but will need to see it completed before proceeding. Quote
